How does it compare to the Cobb tune? I'm not doing anything crazy with fueling, so do you think the Cobb tune is adequate?

My Cobb tune was excellent and, were it not for my running such a highly-modified set-up, it would have been fine.
However, there were a couple of minor tuning "bugs" that couldn't be addressed with Cobb that we've now successfully resolved (we = Jake Hershorin/Motiv Motorsports) though the MHD tune. Power is terrific and the motor is very happy! BTW, I'll be at NJMP this Friday - Sunday as part of BMW CCA's Oktoberfest and will be at VIR the following weekend for a Tarheel Chapter HPDE. Neil |

I use MHD to load the Bms e85 backend flash for the Jb4. Jb4 now only controls boost and can be used to trigger PI or meth whatever along with all the features and safeties.
Nice thing about MHD is that anyone can take a look at the flash files. They're not locked to the tuner any more. Before MHD I had to buy a Cobb just to flash for the Jb4.

E30......MOTIV hired a new tuner, so they are running specials on etunes until 1 October. I guess the guy is pretty badass and has unlocked a lot of potential in the DME for MHD. If they made a top-mount ST, they would have the market locked down. At $200 for an etune, I can't resist. Mike

Based off some great communication with Ken, I'm now leaning toward a Wedge etune. He not only answered my email, but he also answered an additional 6-8 questions.

I'm on the third map revision and trying to clean up some minor timing corrections on the lower end. The revisions have been getting better and better. Ken's been great to deal with. Car runs like a scalded cat. I've also received a lot tuning advice and education from another forum member.

When you log, fully disable DSC and use a full throttle application from about 2000 rpm (you gradually increased throttle over time during your log). Continue to 6k RPM unless something doesn't seem right, in which case you should back off immediately and report concerns to your tuner. |

On a related note...
Guys, just a reminder that you can upload up to three logs at a time to Datazap. This is really nice since you can log once using standard mode, another for M-mode, and another longer one for normal driving (i.e., partial throttle, low to mid RPM, lots of shifting etc). All of this information is good to have, and is likely to be appreciated by your tuner. |

This is just one of the logs, I did about 15 logs today that I've uploaded. If the weather is nice next week I'll do some more aggressive throttling application. |

Can anyone else comment on whether they jumped ship from Cobb to MHD and why?
