Brisbane/Gold Coast Drive
Hey guys,
Most of you won't know me as I've been spending most of my time in the M3 section but I have been following alot of your posts. My M3 will be arriving hopefully before xmas. I would like to try and organise a drive day for those of you that live in SE QLD at some stage early in the new year. I was thinking maybe meeting up somewhere at one of the servos off the M1 on the nothern end of the gold coast and taking a drive down through the Numinbah Valley to Murwullimbah and then onto Byron Bay for some lunch and then back home through the valley again. Its an awsome drive. I used to do it a bit when I had my WRX and then again when I had a sports bike. Anyway, its just an idea at this point, so let me know what you think. I'd like to get as many BMW's there as possible and make a great day of it. |

Gilbo - I'm up for it.... as long as Steve (sparoz) doesn't steal my M3 before I get there on Saturday!

I'd be up for that, although I might avoid eating a big meal if we travel the same roads as the border ranges run.
My car has just over 15000km on it after a year, but I think the suspension is equivalent to 10 years old after those roads!! |

Ok, barring rain and hail or something else that involves dramatic loss of brownie points from the gf I'm there.

hi all
Took the M3 out early this morning on a scouting run for the drive day through the numinbah valley to make sure the roads are up to scratch. It had been a few years since I had driven anything decent on it. It was great and the road is in good condition. I had a grin from ear to ear when I was done. I had the windows down pretty much the entire way so i could hear that sweet engine noise bouncing off the cliffs and trees. I think those that can make it are really going to enjoy this one. i just need to sort out a couple of place to stop enroute for some photo ops. |

I second that zender. I was surprised at how often the traction control light was blinking on and off yesterday. When it is on in normal mode it doesn't allow the car to get out of shape at all. Imagine how often it would come on if I tool it over 5500rpm??

Just a question guys, do you have 1series cars at all? Not being rude or anything, just seems odd doing a cruise on a 1 series forum when you own 3 series?

We would but there just aren't that many M3's around in the brisbane area on here compared to you guys. I have the same thread going in the M3 section but zender is the only one willing to come. Plus, I test drove a 135 a couple of weeks ago and I only have one word for those that have one 'Respect'......
