Does anyone have experience with these seats. They are on sale and i was curious. what are some things to look at when picking out seats? what kind of rails will they need. and coding can be done to remove airbag light right or bypass it? |

Besides, there are SO many other mods you can do before this that will offer more performance for the money. I seriously doubt that you 're getting so sideways on a regular basis that the very-well bolstered sport seats aren't good enough. If you absolutely MUST do more to secure yourself, Schroth makes a removeable 4- or 5-point harness that utilizes the stock architecture (for a fraction of the price).

If you track a lot and want seats for a good price, get a FIA approved fiberglass seat from Recaro, Sparco etc. and a harness bar and harnesses to compliment. The NRG seats look cheap and are not FIA approved

Harness bars and rollcages can be dangerous, even deadly, in a street driven car. Google it.
Your car has a very well-engineered safety system consisting of 3-point belts (the factory mounting points are important) and airbags. Hundreds, if not thousands, of hours went into their design. If you are really such hot shit that you need race seats, rollbars, and harnesses in a street car, well maybe it's time to stop fucking around and get your competition license and build a real race car already. Modding is cool and all, but there comes a point where practicality is surpassed and it's more about posing than anything else.

Pole Positions only fit smaller than average asians. (seriously, even if you're super skinny the harness holes don't align properly for safety-- and that's safety assuming you have a roll cage and are wearing a helmet)

+1 on fixed back seats for a street car being overkill. OP if you want to upgrade w/o sacrificing safety, I think you should look at Recaro Speed seats. They are meant to be used with the stock 3 point belt, should provide some weight savings and will still provide the side bolster support you seek.
With that said, I have Recaro PP's in my other car and while I've never taken 135is on track, I've been pleasantly surprised by the amount of lateral support I get from the M-sport seat. The adjustable bolster and lumber are really good imo. Prior to switching to PP's in the other car, those too had M-sport seats but I was always sliding through the turns. I'm surprised you feel the need to upgrade over the factory seats. And if you don't have the M-sport seats, then like I said take a look at the Speed seats. |

I would actually go out on a limb and say that the sport seats fitted to the 1er are the nicest sport seats BMW has ever made.
