Hopefully tires will get a bit better as broken in. However, full on traction/stability is just plain silly on this car, and WAY too intrusive. I'm tuned and find it necessary to essentially turn it off every time it's damp out.

I mean try to merge from a stop and you not only look like an idiot but are unsafe as the computer saps major power with just a touch of wheelspin. Wish Cobb could default set it to DTC mode. With only 1 wheel to break loose initially it's not hard in a rwd coupe, esp one with good power.

In this case it doesn't seem like this is true, however it is a valid point and could be true if anyone else sees a similar problem. I have started to see this with my summer rated Hankooks now that we have dipped below freezing here a few times in MN. Summer tires hate cold temps, they start to act like round bricks and the grip levels drop like a rock.

If you look at the reviews, the cornering limits go from around .3 in snow to about .8 on dry - in the winter. Dry versus wet versus snow makes a big difference. It is not obvious temperature makes any difference at all.

Cheap Chinese tires!

I have seen some tests on German Tv & from ADAC (the German Auto Club)where those Chinese tires have MUCH longer stopping distances than good quality snow tires. Something like 8m to 30m (dry/wet/snow) longer stopping distances than top winter tires on the German market.

Watch this video... esp @58 secs summer vs snows and later @1:57 secs German winters vs China snows...

I just put Blizzaks on my car. The rubber is very soft right now since temps are still over 7 deg C. It is like driving a completely different car. Very "squishy" feeling. It has completely lost the responsiveness and twitchy stearing. My light does come on more often but the tires do need to be broken in.

This is the correct answer. It happens with all brands of winter tires. My blizzaks did that when they were newer and closer to full tread depth.

You have to take it easy on winter tires. The sidewalls roll and flex and the TC is very sensitive to it.
