Hey guys. how difficult is it to get from Memmingen to Munich proper?

Is it just a bus or a train? Im trying to do this on the cheap.


:edit: I found a direct bus for 15 euros each way from the airport to the central train station in Munich. I imagine itll take as long as the bus from Victoria to Stanstead so I did it.

See you guys on the 6th.

Well it was that or 350 pounds to fly direct into Munich on BMI.

Bringing my family and we plan on visiting Dachua on Sat and then staying overnight in Garching (right now Hotel am Park but am looking for better place), then if I understand correct...meet the 1Addicts at the Allianz parking and going to the Welt together...is that correct???

Rick, I have stayed at Motel-One in Garching. Its brand new hotel and very modern and clean. Even has a nice park garage. Single rooms are 59 euros and doubles 69 euros. They have free WLAN in the lobby and a U-Bahn stop just behind the hotel. One added perk it that its just down the street from //M GmbH HQ! This hotel is nothing fancy but its new/clean and a decent place to stay. Next door is also an ETAP and IBIS hotel as well.

Thanks Dave, I'm changing my reservation to motel one..

Btw, I have about 20 1Addicts.com decals left from my order last year. They have the word addicts.com in white letters with a red "1" and are 5 euros for two decals....if you are interested. Anyone else need a decal?

Time to put my ONS (Operational Needs Statement) request in. I don't think I will be driving that morning to the Welt unless the wife says otherwise.

I think we should ask JohannesK. On the first page of this thread it says the car show runs from 09:00 until 14:00. Then we start out on our drive for lunch(1 hour away?). The car show is also on SUNDAY not Saturday like last year, and it is on the otehr side of the BMW HQ building.

That is why I booked a hotel room at Motel One in Garching. No way would I wake up a crack of dawn to get down to Munchen that day!

Maybe we should meet at the Allianz area exit, there is a BMW Neiderlassung near the Park & Ride there. ?

I do not think Munich has self service car washes. I remember Comar1979 (aka Marco) saying that last year. I thought I knew of one but I could not find it!! Only the ones where you drive your car thru(at the Aral at the end of Garching when you take the left into Munchen on the B13, near the TUV).

I think I will take some detailing supplies and a bucket with me - and do my car in the Motel One tiefgarage. No Rinse Wash is my friend.

0800 at BMW Fröttmaning sounds like a good time to me!

The meet starts at 0900 at the entrance of the parking garage, so about 0900 it should be very crowded there.. if we arrive around 0830 - 0845 we might slip in easy!

I would but my kids are 3 years and 6 weeks old so they're not quite old enough for this trip (at least that's what the Frau says, I'm already teaching my daughter about apexes lol)

I think some areas coming in to the parking structure will be sorta close on the height of lowered cars. I think we should be good to get in.
