insurance company recommendations?
Does anyone have recommendation as to auto insurers in MA? I had Amica when I lived there last, but if anyone has anything good or bad to say about a company and/or prices, I would love to here it.
Amica seemed good, maybe a bit expensive, and I never had to use the insurance besides for windshield replacement. Also, anyone care to recommend a car for under $10k that must have 4 doors... other aspects are somewhat negotiable. Preferably reliable, not exorbitant repair costs, and not a bore to drive. Some options I have thought of: - Lexus IS300 - Saab 9-2x - Mazda 3 5-door - Subaru legacy - older A4 - old G35/G35x - older Saab 9-3/9-5 - older Volvo S60 Any opinions? It's not my ideal car situation, but we may be looking to buy a house in a year or two, and not having any debt may be beneficial for the loan terms.

Thanks. I looked a progressive several years ago and thought they were priced well, at least until they were going to ding me for windshield comprehensive claims that I had made with Amica. Then it wasn't worth the effort to switch.
I will definitely check them out this time around.

I've had Amica for years, for both the cars and homeowners. Excellent service, and unlike some of the "cheap" companies with reptilian mascots, they won't drop you like a hot potato if you have an accident. Sometimes you get what you pay for.
As for a 4-door car, one of my favs is the first-gen Acura TSX |

Liberty Mutual. I have them, they're pretty decent.

Progressive is good but just make sure you demand OEM parts if and when you have to file a claim with them. They love telling body shops to use aftermarket alternatives.
Also heard great things about AAA. |

Thanks for the recommendations guys.
Now, any more car recommendations? At this point, our car will be a hand-me-down '92 Subaru Legacy wagon. The only fun thing about this car will be the ability to embarrass friends when we come over and park it outside their house...

That would be awesome. After it's served its purpose, maybe it will be re-purposed to that... except it would probably require 10x the cars value to get ti rally-ready. Any idea of where you can do rally versions of auto-x?
