The leather isnt an issue. I have 60K miles on my 08 and I have the top down in the winter, the summer, and everywhere in-between. All I do is saddle soap my seats on a regular basis.

So I've priced out one with all the options I wanted and will be putting a deposit in next month when I am over in Afghanistan as I have to be overseas to use the military sales program. Production is set to be March 2012 which is also the last month of production for 2012MY. I am impressed with the pricing on this car as I got it loaded for just a little bit more than what you guys pay for a base model. |

Thanks for serving our country, my best friend is currently in Afghanistan serving as well...
I come from an evo ix with 400whp. The change was great for me i loved my evo but this car just is so much classier and the interior is so much better than a mitsu or suby will ever be. The power you're at now in your wrx probably will be very close to the 135i even though power delivery will feel different of course...my first impression of the 135i after i bought it was the torque, it was instant and way better than my evo was. The 4 cylinder turbo engines make good power but torque isn't anything to brag about if you throw a chip like jb4 or procede the car is an animal. Of course the only downside from AWD to RWD is handling but like pervious people have said a few mods and that can be eliminated just like most other cars...i love the handling in the 1 though its a challenge and you really need to know what you're doing to put it through hard turns. |

With regards to the break you get on pricing....
Im glad the military and BMW can take care of you while you take care of us. That's a well deserved discount.

Thanks, you guys!
I do hate the lag on my car, and the 135i has the kind of power I like. It's got that down low-mid RPM pull that feels so good when you get on it. I had an 06' GLi with the 2.0T DSG--the first MY of that particular design/powertrain and it was awesome. Traction sucked, but it was peppy down low. The 135i resembles that on a whole other level, and I do plan to JB4, Meth, FMIC, etc, etc. To make my current car make as much as the 1s make with bolt-ons, I would have to spend tons of money rebuilding the transmission and engine and just praying some shady tuner doesn't blow up my investment.. I do plan on doing the M3 suspension, sways, endlinks, coils, etc. RWD is fine for me, and I don't mind owning more of a drivers car. |

Not really, just take a small amount and gently rub it in. Some people recommend more but saddle soap is what's always worked for me.

So I have people gauging intrest in the car and one that says he has the money and is looking for shipping to Denver. I did some searching for him and I'm just waiting for a response.
On the otherhand, I've priced my car out and I'm in love!! |

I miss my STI. especially in the winter.
BMW does have a significantly different brand recognition. I definitely get more "nice car" comments from girls in the bmw over the STi (typically the sti got the "thats my dream car" from dudes). I'm not a fan of the "oh....you drive an BMW, you're a spoiled/snobby/whatever" assumption, but i'm sure that doesn't bother most people. Don't get my wrong, i love my 128 with sport package. it gets great gas mileage, is super fun to drive, and is way more comfortable. I dont regret buying the 1 and i'm hoping to keep it for at east another 4 years (bought it in 2008) so i can use it as a daily driver.

The snooty deal isn't a big deal as I am not that kind of person. I love the car, and I love the neck-breaking looks it'll get. My car get's a lot of those already, and I do like it. I'll let people think what they want, and I know that I am not that kind of person.

While I was going through it, it seemed like the worst thing that ever happened to me. But now seven years later it seems like the best thing that ever happened to me! Time heals all wounds. Cheers. |

So here is my order minus that delivery date which makes no sense. I must say I am too excited about this as this will be a rite-of-passage in my life as my divorce comes to a close and I get back from Afghanistan. This car is going to represent the new, happier that ever before me! I cannot wait!! |

Congrats man! Coming from a 500hp EVO I can tell you that there is absolutely no comparison, the 1 is much more refined and fun. The EVO was beastly, Raw, down right mean, but lacks a ton that the 1 has. Given that the STI and EVO are so close I can honestly say that you will not be disappointed.

Oh, I so know what you mean. Another thing that has me so attracted is the grown up feel it brings. Not the "boy racer" type feeling. Had I bought the WRX a while back, I probably would have never even thought about giving it up. I wanted something that would put down good numbers and have all the amenities that I will enjoy for years to come.
