Question about strut braces

On our cars we have a "V" shaped brace; you have a bar from each front strut connecting to the center of the fire wall making a "V" like shape if you will. The 1M and M3 braces also form this "V" shape.

So what is the purpose of upgrading to the 1M/M3 strut braces other than the added accesibility to the shocks/camber plate adjustments? Wouldn't it make more of a difference to just get a third brace going from strut to strut to complete the triangle?

I find the M3 brace modified by HPA to be noticeably stiffer than the stock brace. The bendy parts of the M3 brace are much shorter than stock. I suspect the 1M version would be somewhat less by virtue of not having the beefy center piece of the M3 version. If you want the maximum stiffness, get the Mason Engineering.
