Logic 7 worth it over standard package?

New to the forum, and ordering a 325xi this week. My question is a simple one:

Is the Logic 7 premium sound system worth it over the standard 10 speaker system? How much better does it sound, and are there any good comparison reviews out there? Thanks,

In one of the BMW magazine issues, DJ Hell (very well known and respected) sat in an E91 (wagon) and tested the Logic7. Being a DJ he's really into how sounds are reproduced and how good the songs sound. He said that it's the best system that he's ever listened to. Even with the volume turned up to the max, there was virtually no sound distortion. Even with songs are of low quality, the sound was still great. He said it was better than his system in the club (which is worth tens of thousands of dollars).

I dont know how good the standard system is, but everyone who's listened to the Logic7 in my car was very impressed. Sometimes I would just sit in the car and turn volume up so I can enjoy how great the system is. So I say go for it.

I love the standard system.....but on the other hand i've only herd good things about the Logic 7 sound system.

By the way, can someone tell me where the 10 speakers are in my car?!?!?
I can only find 6. I count:
2 driver side door
2 passanger side door
2 rear shelf
where are the other 4?

not sure about this but did u count the tweeters?? Does the standard system come with a sub as well??

Logic7 is great. I really do notice the difference when I drive my non sound upgraded X5. It makes a huge difference...

4 at the rear shelf, 2 are rear doors, 2 under the front seats, 4 at front doors and 1 center channel = 13 total grasshopper

yes. the subwoofer is located under each front seat. They are great!

I love the Logic 7 system. It'll sound even better when you tweak the EQ settings to your own preference.

It´s appreciably better but only you can decide after you listen to both. Bring music with you that you are familiar with for the "test drive".

The non "logic 7" system in that is standard in the 325i is marginal at best.

The "logic 7" system in the 330i is a great improvement.

I guess it really depends on how much of a casual listener you are.

How important is accurate music reproduction to you?

Since im in so many different BMWs everyday, I can say that I love the new 3 series Logic 7. I have a large system in my personal car, And I have found that getting into my shuttle E90 with the Logic system it does not fail to impress. The stock system on the other hand isnt all that great. It is however better than most other stock systems.

Only you can decide whether $1200 USD is worth it to your ears.

If you were going to go aftermarket upgrades anyways, then obviously don't get it. But be forewarned that it will require much more than $1200 in parts and labour to match the Logic 7's sound.

First, I admit that I've not heard the Logic 7 system. But I had the VW equivalent in my Passat W8 (Monsoon) and it was the best sound system I've ever had in a car. That said, it's an expensive option - and I find the stock system to be fine (again, not having compared). To me a sound system can only be so good in a car, when a truck passing you is going to ruin it anyway.
