Took delivery yesterday!! Smoothest car buying experience I have ever had. Was treated great by the entire staff. Picked the car up with 12 miles on it (I was told the Sales Manager and a couple sales guys took the car for a spin before I took delivery because it was a combo they don't see often). Sorry for the bad pics (from my iPhone)...

two things I am not going to let the dealer do:

- drive my car (even for a few miles)
- drill the front license plate into the bumper (registering in VT but live in CT so it wont matter)

Althought it might be a bit late now, I would have complained about the car having 12 miles on it. The color combo doesn't justify a few guys taking your new car for a joy ride.

Thanks! Being a member of this forum, I thought that AW/CR was a common combo, but now I truly know now that the AW/CR color combo is rare on the street. Everyone that sees it (even a few BMW owners at the office) have never seen that specific color combo before and I have received a lot of compliments on the interior color from strangers at gas stations, etc. It really is a striking combo when you see it in person. Love it!

I'm actually friends with 3 of the sales guys from the dealer I ordered it from so I didn't mind. I chatted with 2 of them afterward and asked if they had driven it and they confirmed. Since it was them, it wasn't a big deal to me since I trust them (one is the guy that introduced me to how awesome the 1 series is and he has a stripped 135i with M-Sport only for tracking) It wasn't necessarily the color combo that got them, it was the color combo, plus the M-Sport, Premium and and the DCT. Should they have taken it out without asking me, definitely not. Ideally, I would have liked to take delivery of a car with 3-6 miles on it, but because I knew them, I really didn't mind the extra few miles...really we're talking about 6-9 extra miles. The paperwork on the car stated I took delivery with 12 miles on the vehicle so any previous driving before delivery won't effect my lease miles.

I forgot about asking them not to drill the front license plate holes and when I took delivery, I said to myself "how did I forget to tell them that". I also didn't think that it was possible since I think it is CA law to have a front license plate. I wish I had specified, but there are some matching caps I can get to fill the holes. It might not be completely unnoticible, but should do the job. I think it looks fine either way, but would have liked no front license plate if I had the option to.

I love my car, with or without the front license plate, and am happy to be a part of the 1addicts family! More pics coming soon after the tint and black kidney grills installed, rep'ing the 1addicts.com forum as well.
