Is this a good deal? 2012 135i M-Sport
I am going to look at a 2012 135i M-sport this weekend and I was wondering if this is a good deal or not.
This will be my first BMW and I am not that familiar with these cars besides looking up mods and browsing around on here the past few days. Anything I should keep an eye out for? Are there any known problems that I should be aware of? I noticed a recall was recently released for them but I am not too worried about that. https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/d...3308/overview/ To sum up the details- 2012 135i M-Sport - $24,988 34.5k Miles 2 Owners Jet Black/ Coral Red Anthracite Trim DCT SAT/Nav Package Premium 2 Package M-Sport Package Harmon Kardon Sound Heated Front Seats Xenon Lights Clean Carfax Any info or heads up would be greatly appreciated. In the past I have had a few G37 coupes, Jeep WK2 Cherokee SRT, a 370z Nismo ect so I am pretty familiar with performance/sportier cars. Thanks! |

Looks good, definitely have a mech look it over but if everything checks out that's a very good price.

It's a god deal, here in Toronto the price of that car is mid $30's. Even you factor in the difference of our $ you are still ahead. Good Luck!

Had to chime in...I just bought a 135i in May and looked into that same car in late March / early April. It's been there for awhile so I would just make sure you have someone check it out thoroughly!

The history of the car is curious (not loved)... but assuming no obvious flaws or history, that's a reasonable price.

Honestly I think every car enthusiast should own at least one BMW in their lives. The 1 series is a great car. This one has a lot going for it, being a '35, M-Sport, etc.

2 things.......Run it with the AC on max. If it idles roughly, then you will probably need the SIB 12-14-15 update.
Also, know a reputable shop. This forum is an excellent place to get recommendations. The first shop I went to tried to get me to pay for a walnut blast (on a N55!). Needless to say, after a little research here, I got everything straightened out on my car and LOVE it! |

I bought my second 135 but made sure it was a 09 n54 and 6mt only 27k miles. $18k cuz it needed tires, alignment & battery.
If you are a driving enthusiast/plan on tuning. Personally i would recommend n54 and 6mt. Get lessons on driving stick and then just have a blast! I did a ton of research before I pulled the trigger on my second 1. In the end opted for the same engine /trans |

Thank you for the inputs!
I went and checked it out, test drove it and everything appeared to be fine. Like VRG stated, it did idle pretty rough with the AC on max but if that is a simple fix then it shouldn't be an issue. Upon leaving the dealership though I had a really bad gut feeling about it. I didn't want to purchase it that day because usually if you want it bad enough you will be back in the morning and I wasn't sold. I will be keeping it in mind but in the mean time the search is still on. I love the car, DCT, M-sport and all the rest of the bells and whistles this one had but I really wish it had been white. Maybe that is where the gut feeling came in. After owning 4 black cars in a row I want to switch it up. I appreciate all the help though, this is a great community on here and hopefully I will be apart of it in the near future! |

According to car gurus its been on the market for 148 days
76 days at this dealership 148 days on CarGurus 2 price changes I would definitely take it to a bmw dealer and pay 160 for a PPI worth it IMO if its clean offer them 24000. If they don't take it walk out the door they will break down https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/invent...ting=134153654 |
