Thinking of buying eBay parts?

I have a bsm 1m and I would like to get the carbon lip spoiler and maybe some other cosmetic bits, but it is much more attractive and likely to happen at the "ebay" pricing as I hate spending money on non functional items. I came from a 335 so I haven't heard much about the ebay carbon lip spoilers/grilles and maybe even mirror covers being sold. Is their a consensus on these? What have you guys heard of the quality and fitment?

These are what I had looked at:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/E82-1...item564641c3ee

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/08-09...item53e95dad8e

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/08-09...item56465294e0

I would most likely go with bmw parts as there already cheap for a plain black grill but whats the word on these:

These are all so cheap I might actually buy them where as I will talk myself out of the bmw performance pricing? I'm more than open to other places to buy as well if there are better vendors?

Paint em

Have a good local body shop paint your grills n side marker holders gloss black. Matches the rest of the trim and should cost less than $100. And good oem fit.

As for the splitter order one and check it out. It will probably look cheap and fit badly but once installed it will look fine from 5' away.

My $.02

I'll definitely be buying grills vs painting, most likely oem black but if someone gave the ok on these why not? BMW doesn't offer carbon wrapped grills which if someone has experience with this spoiler and its ok I would buy together. The spoiler is my main interest as it is a simple piece to make and so cheap!

You may also want to check IND's offering, you can get a set of both grills and side markers in either gloss black or matte black. The latter can come in no, lite, or dark tint. Bought a set of each and can tell you fit and finish is perfect. Their grill is gloss on the outside surround and the ribs are matte, looks great. They have a mirror cover as well, though may not be what you are looking for.

I personally will be going for the BMW Performance CF mirror caps and trunk spoiler. Yes, they are more expensive than ebay products, but their fit and finish is guaranteed to be top notch, and the weave and coloration of all parts will be the same (vs. Ebay products from different vendors which are bound to be different). If you are not as anal as me, then forget everything i just told you

BTW, there are a few BMW dealers here who are board sponsors, through them you can source a lot of these parts much cheaper than through your dealership. See the Commercial subforum

1M with eBay parts = epic fail.

Not to be nosy, but did you overextend yourself with the vehicle purchase? IMO you're better off leaving it stock than trying to accessorize it on the cheap. Cheap CF bits will turn yellow over time, and I can almost guarantee that the fitment on this thing will be horrible. Do a search - plenty of unsatisfied customers when it comes to no-name CF spoilers.
