Need help with brake upgrades
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com My question is, should I get bigger discs and calipers in the front, like 330 instead of my oem 300, and leave the rear alone or should i get better discs and pads all around from like EBC GD series with yellowstuff pads? What do you think would be the better buy, knowing it will never go on a track and i don't really want to break the bank... Thank you for your advice! |

What do you mean by "less confidence inspiring"? Soft pedal? High pedal force required?
If you never plan to go to the track, I don't think there is any reason to try to upgrade to a bigger brake kit unless you just like the appearance better. The OEM BMW pads have the best initial bite of anything I've tried on my car, and work well for street driving and mild performance driving like autocross.

Just keep it stock with blank rotors... If you drive it hard, sure go with EBC yellows and if you want looks you can get those funny rotors with marketing holes to make your pads wear faster. .
Sounds like you should try new fluid or at least bleed the lines to make sure there are no air bubbles in all seriousness first. |

Try changing the brake fluid. I bet it's old or not bled correctly.
