They are a dealer. I agree with blinded in saying it's just a car they hope to make money on. Simple as that.

They have it listed on cars.com, it is in the high end of asking price, but it's not the highest. 2013 coupe range from 17k to 31k, EAG always advertises at a premium.

I wonder if they sell a few 128i's, and the e82 platform becomes popular, if they would sell more 135i's as well. The 135i is undoubtably popular.

That's exactly the point I am trying to make, they know their customer base, i.e. the market. That is why I am asking, is this a good sign for future desirability for the non turbo 1? |

Did they drop the price today? I thought it was a round $30k.

I think the no-turbo, N/A 6 has a lot to do with it. And...with a manual transmission, well, that's about traditional as you're going to get with those who seek "the last of the breed."

One of the last naturally aspirated inline 6 cylinders made....well if your not counting the 5 series.
I dont think the 1 series have much long term value (if any) out-side the fact that the 128i is the most underrated car BMW probably ever made. Too bad it's an N51. Data for vehicle identification number: WBAUP9C51DVF46680 Model description: 128i Market: USA Type: UP93 E-Code: E82 Chassis: Coupé Steering: links Doors: 2 Engine: N51B30M1 - 3,00l (172kW) Drive: Heckantrieb Transmission: manuell Body Color: Schwarz 2 (668) Upholstery: Leder Boston 2/schwarz (LWSW) Production date: 24.08.2012 Assembled in: Leipzig

I'm not saying the 128i won't be desirable in the future, I'm just saying that this peticular situation has no meaning to the 128i's future desirability. It is he ladt N/A I6 bmw coupe ever made, and that in itself gives it some desireabilty to a very niche market. I bought a new 2013 128i with the 6MT and after doing the 130i conversion and AA tune, it was a fun car, but my 135i had all of the options I wanted, and was more suited to my driving style.

One of the prime reasons I bought one of the last 128s off the Leipzig line.

I imagine a 128i with DISA, headers, VAC pp and a decent suspension would be really rewarding car on a track/auto-x. Light, reliable and no heat issues.

By this logic, we should get rid of our cars for a focus. |

Have to agree with the "most underrated" comment. I think 128i Sport Pkg./ 6MT is going to be highly sought after down the road and highly collectable. Even now a pretty rare sighting. There's really nothing quite like it. All the "last of" stuff- NA6, hydraulic steering etc. With good rubber (and some Bilsteins) great fun to drive. Can't see mine ever being for sale.

Last year of the N52 528i is 2011.....got one of those too!!! For the same reason I got the 128i. Big six and no turbos. My '12 128i sport manual optioned with pretty much everything possible except cold weather with 38k miles was sub $20k. I feel I did VERY well. Will be interesting to see what they end up selling it at. You know the future owner will find his way here eventually. Don't we all?
