Headlight bulb problem

Sorry if in posting in wrong section. Feel like an idiot already. Went to change out high beam bulb took everything out, and installed new bulb. For some reason I can't get the retaining clip to seat right and the headlight bulb is loose on one side. 30 minutes fighting with it and still no luck. Any suggestions or anyone encounter similar problem? Please guide me in the right direction. Thanks!

My only suggestion now is to take the bumper off and take the headlight out so you have more room to play.
