Removing the warning stickers from visors?
Any suggestions for removing the air-bag warning stickers from the visors??
I was thinking of lifting a corner with a razor blade, then pulling them off, but I'm worried about any residual adhesive left on the visor. |

The one thing to note, however, is that I believe the visor has changed since the first US 1 Series. Someone can perhaps chime in to this in regard to the stickers.

I removed mine a few weeks back. I have an '11 vert. I used 70% ethanol like you would get at the pharmacy in your grocery store. I finished with Goo-Gone, but I think that left a slight grey residue.
1.) Remove the visors from the car. You'll need to unplug the electrical connection for the lighted mirror. 2.) Soak a wash cloth in the rubbing alcohol/isopropyl/ethanol (whatever you have), and let is lay on the sticker for about 5 minutes. The "sticker" is almost more of a "transfer" than a sticker. There is no real backing to the color layer. 3.) Gently RUB the sticker off, starting at an edge or soft spot. It will roll up in pieces. 4.) Work the difficult areas again. 5.) I finished with Goo-Gone, but again, I have a little haze to the area. WARNING! The visors do not look perfect! There seems to be a permanent outline left in the vinyl. I think what I have is better than the huge colorful stickers, but it is NOT PERFECT. I don't think a razor blade would work.

removed mine and im an expert at it...
still have a light haze to it in certain light angles.. rubbing alchohol is what i used and let it soak in by setting a cloth drenched in it on top for about 1 min.. Rub and repeat.. will peal off well but that slight gloss it leaves behind is impossible to prevent.. maybe a dremel with a buffer will help pull it off. thats my only guess.. looks 10x better without the damn sticker.

I removed stickers from my '05 Z4 using Goof Off. Came out perfect. No haze, no lines, couldn't tell they were ever there. Tried same thing today with the '11 135i and Goof Off did not work. Yes, the stickers are gone but the residue / change in shade of the visors is not OK. In short they are ruined and I ordered new visors from Tischer today. $100 mistake.
