Zaino, Anthracite, and Aluminum Pedals on Jet Black

It was a busy weekend. I installed the Aluminum Pedals. it was exactly as easy as the DIY instruction on this forum.

I also did the whole Zaino thing. Z5 Pro - then Z2 Pro then Z6 Gloss enhancer Clear Spray and then ZS Clear Seal. It is easy to put on and take off. The hard part is letting it thouroughly dry between applications. What a look! What a finish! On Jet Black - it's like looking at a black mirror!

Also -a daylight picture of Antracite - gives a more realistic idea than a flash photo.

Enjoy!

Thanks! I used clay on the trunk lid, some minor deposits from a tree. The dealer had prepped it pretty good a month ago.

It takes about 20 minutes to do the whole car for each application of the Z5 and the Z2. The hard part is letting it sit for a couple of hours to let it dry before wiping off with a microfiber towel. I had washed the car the night before, so it was already dry. I put on Z5 - then while that was drying, I installed the aluminum pedals. Then I buffed off the Z5, then put on Z2. You don't need to use very much at all. Then I had lunch and watched a little golf. About two hours after I put it on, I took the car outside in the sun and buffed off the Z2. Then the Z6 and ZS, each coat taking 15 minutes or so to apply.

End to end - you should allow for 6 hours. You can even let the Z5 or Z2 dry overnight. It is not like other waxes that will become hard to take off. Do the whole car then let it dry properly. Actual application and buffing time is about 90 minutes (not including clay time). Not hard to do at all. It is amazing stuff. So easy to work with. And when you do it in the sun, you can see really well as you work. Of course, maybe not in late June or July! Jet black gets warm to touch in the sun.

These are all standard with the ZSP option in Canada, along with the 261M Sport wheels, the M Sport door sills and heated seats. However, our base price is $41,700 plus $1,600 for the Sport Package option. The Sun Roof is a $2,000 option up here. My other car has a sun roof.

Its not fair how you Canadians get the black headliners and the better looking sport wheels, plus you guys have sunroof delete. American's always get jipped when it comes to cars and what not.

But are you willing to pay $43,300USD + tax + freight/PDI for the wheels, black headliners and no sunroof? With the dollar at par, that's what it almost comes out to for us here in Canada!

I'd rather pay what you US guys are paying for their 135...I guess the grass is always greener on the other side.:iono:

EDIT: Sorry about the thread jacking, but that's one sweet ride! Nice job on the Zaino.

I checked with a couple of US Dealers - they won't sell a new 135i to a Canadian unless you have a US Residence and a US Driver's license. Besides BMW Canada is going to charge a few thousand to bring the car to CDN spec for warranty. That plus the few extra goodies on the Canadian model made me forget that alternative.

Sunroof delete is not worth $5000. A CF roof will cost less. You can put in the anthracite HL at the same time. I like 264's better. YOMV

Lookin great. Did you have to show your black headliner. I am going to find a custom shop and see how much it would cost to get a black headliner installed.

Or order one from BMW Canada.
