Tire suggestions with 264 rims & BMW Performance Suspension Package

Open to input on new tires for stock 264 rims with BMW Suspension Package. Have heard good things about the Hankooks and the Dunlops. Currently have my 17" snow tires mounted and just got the car back with suspension completed.

Has anyone with BMW Performance Suspension experience any rubbing issues with stock 18" rims & any of the following in stock sizes:

1. stock tires - Potenza RE50A
2. Dunlop star specs
3. Hankook Ventus v12

The Star Specs are outstanding tires for performance driving. I run therm on my M3 track car. The Hankook V12s will last much longer but will not give you nearly the grip of the Star Specs. I'm also trying to find out if Star Specs in 245/40 or 255/35 will work in the rear with stock wheels and sport suspension (They don't come in a 245/35/18)

Good thread.. Cause my new rims failed big time.. I am wondering to put those Michelin PS2's to front and rear of 264 Stock Rims. What are the specs for those stock rims btw ??

Wheels would be Rear 265 and front 225.

Tell me about it pls.. I'm lost. Sucks to drive with spikes.

Not sure if this will help you out, but I'm running Conti DWS on the 264 style rims in these sizes:
F: 225/40R18
R: 255/35R18

On a completely stock car there are no issues with rubbing/clearance whatsoever.

I have performance springs and M3 front arms. I've had no rubbing with either of these:

Michelin PS2 225/40/18 - 255/35/18 on OE 264
Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3D 225/45/17 on Sport Edition F10 (17x8)

The winter wheels/tires were also okay before I installed the M3 and performance stuff.

I have star specs in 255/35s in the rear with the BMW performance suspension, I only get rubbing if I bottom out..no rubbing otherwise..

Ok thanks fellas.. I test it and if it sucks I just switch back to stock 245@rear.

I have KV1 so I can easily take it higher a bit.. I quess KV's are little bit harder than Performance suspension so it wont lower that much in bumps..

Thanks Jeff. I'm just so fond of the Star Specs after tracking a dozen or so different street tires. IMO, closest thing to R-Comps wiht much better wear and very reasonable road noise.
