These look good but why not have the tubing extend out to have something to weld onto instead of welding onto a weld?

Also is this price for a set of 2 or an individual piece?

The side with the weld is the inside that mounts to your head. The outside does have extended tubing.

I read tapered inserts for factory like seal as the taper goes into the head? Maybe not? AR designs sells the same thing except it extends on both sides.

You're right, I retract my previous statement.

MAPerformance was big in the Evo world but hasn't gotten into the BMW scene too far yet. I'd love to see more from them.

Still no response? Doesn't look like they really want to sell anything. I would hope this isn't a reflection of customer service.

I get the feeling BMW isn't their primary platform. I've never had anything from them, but damn near 100% satisfaction from evo owners with parts and customer support. I just think they are too busy to do so many posts on so many sites etc.

I bet their customer service is fine from what I've seen, and every review on their products themselves has been glowing. I just don't think a lot of their business comes from BMW. Doesn't mean I wouldn't buy it though!

They're not responding and there is nothing to weld onto on the outside of the flange. The price is only slightly cheaper than AR Designs which have the extra piece. Thing that sucks is AR isn't responding to emails either. What is wrong with companies? They advertise something for sale but want nothing to do with the product. Doesn't make sense to me.

Hi Guys! Sorry about the lack of response in this thread. Normally I would get an email to my inbox upon a reply, or see it in my subscribed threads, but unfortunately nothing came through until mid-day Saturday, and the thread was not popping up on the subscribed portion of my user CP.

As for the questions, here...we....go!

The pricing is for a pair of the flanges!

You hit the nail right on the head sir!

The inserts are tapered on the inside. Rather than pushing the insert into the flange and welding it on the outside the flange is welded to the inside to give the product a better seal against the head instead of something sticking out on the other side to where you may have to file it down to fit. These flanges fit just like the OEM flanges do on your current manifold.

To answer the question about BMW being our primary platform, you are correct it is not as we started out in the DSM/Evo market. We are currently trying to break into the BMW market, along with a couple others as well.

I do want to apologize about the lack of customer service here. I can assure you that customer service is one of our top priorities here at MAPerformance, and we DO NOT settle for anything but the best when it comes to that aspect of our company.

If anyone has any other questions, please do let me know!

Ok. @maperformance Well so far the response wasn't timely but at least you apologized. AR Designs won't even return my emails. Do you guys sell piping bends and elbows to use to fabricate my own manifold? Example would be the proper size to line up with this manifold? Also one last question. Is this the side that goes into the head? Or is this the side that would be getting the piping welded onto it?

Yessir we certainly do sell the bends needed to create your own manifold.

1.25" Schedule 10 will fit perfectly on the manifold.

The tapered side with what looks to be piping coming out goes TOWARDS the motor, NOT to be used to weld onto. **This is my mistake as I misunderstood what I was being told about them** Sorry for the confusion.

Please let me know if there are any other questions!

Ok. That was what I thought. Now that you have clarified, I'm curious has to how one is supposed to weld piping onto that flange? Do you suggest welding onto the welds already there? Or would the suggested size piping encapsulate the entire hole and weld leaving the pipe to be welded directly to the flange? I'm just really unsure about how that's going to work?

I was also confused yesterday until it was explained to me. A 1.25" Schedule 10 pipe will fit directly over the weld. Welding on the outside of the Sch.10 to the flange, you will not overlap the welds we currently have on the flange. 1.25 fits perfectly onto the flange, you would just have to center it, which is not that hard. You can use 1.5", but it is a little overkill and would not receive the correct flow needed through the pipe.
