lean mixture on 125i to 130i tune
so as the title says I just tuned my 125i and I'm getting a very lean mixture (14.7) also to add to that the torque curve is all over the place and not steady at all. I'm concerned that in my country there is a poor fuel quality and that the temperature of the dyno day was 30 degrees but is this graph ''normal'' or shall I contact my tuner to tweak and arrange it?
ps - Ihave an injen sp1121p and the fuel filter is bound to be replaced Last edited by Kizzu; 07-07-2014 at 01:48 PM.. |

The torque curve will have dips, that's the nature of the DISA valves opening. As far as the lean mixture goes, unless your throwing codes, you should be fine - I think it should be richer as you approach red line (like 13.1 or so)

That dyno looks very healthy.
See AA tunedynos to see the mixture to be leaner

Ahh???!! 13 afr and 14s? That's not a safe tune lol. The leanest at wot you want to be is at 11.7 or barely hitting a 12 afr on e85 since it's pretty much knock resisted and runs everything cooler. And 14s afr is like idle. I don't know what you guys are talking about lol

Ignition timing (spark) will be made less aggressive by the ecu to compensate for the gas quality. The A/F ia fine, you can check other dyno for comparison.

Better to be a little rich than a little lean. Lean can cause issues with heat and lubrication.
Lean a motor out too much and it will burn up. Is the motor pinging? If so you will want to find a higher octane fuel or different tune. Last edited by MarkkyyMan; 07-06-2014 at 02:15 AM.. |
