Can they be installed with a typical bushing press/clamp set? Or does it need to be done on a bench.

Depends, but a lot of times you need to machine an interference fit to your application. Just saying, spherical is going to have absolutely zero slop or movement. Aurora is top notch.

Reading up on it they sound promising. But I want to be able to install them in my garage. I'm not a big fan of other people working on my car unless I can't avoid it.

No problem there, you can probably find a socket that matches the outer race...

Yup. You're probably right. Rather than replace arms I'm going to look into doing all sphericals where appropriate.

When are you guys going to investigate this?
I am interested in the Megan Racing Toe Arms and M3 Guide Rods, but not until I am sure it resolves the issue... |

Can't say my timeframe will be aggressive. I just got done doing coils and FMIC, car budget is in the floor for the next month at least unless something blows up.

I am looking forward to hearing the results of the spherical bearings, but I don't know if it is needed. at least for me. I went to buttonwillow about a week ago and my rear end was rock solid, just as it is through canyon runs. I ran the stock ppk tune on the track, but in the canyons I run my max boost ptf tune, and the rear end is still rock solid.
for me, the biggest impact to stopping the rear end wiggle after the whiteline RSFB was the bimmerworld tow arms. anyway, looking forward to hearing your results as things progress.

No it really doesn't. I have my alignment specs at home, but IIRC, I have the rear set within factory spec. Rear camber is at 1.8 degrees and toe in is either at .10 or .15. Not sure how much the upper m3 arms and the m3 lower camber arm are contributing, but from what I have read, it may not be much. dcarrron also saw the big improvement when he upgraded his toe arms, and he is at the tract a lot. I went with the bimmerworld arm because the aurora bearing they use is rated the highest amongst the arms in the market from my research last year.

Depends on the cost of the bearings vs the toe arms like Houtan and Dcarron have. If the whole arm assembly is less, that's the honest answer in this case.

I wouldn't be horribly surprised if a set of bearings ended up being that much. Then add time to press them out.
I'd love to be wrong of course. Maybe I'm just getting cynical.

That would be the wishbone, or upper arm.

3 is AKA the upper camber link
5 is lower camber link 1 is rear trailing arm Think that covers all of them? Most you would realistically want to do is get upgraded guide rods and toe arms. M3 guide rods fit, M3 toe arms don't. Bimmerworld has a spherical bearing aftermarket guide rod, and there are lots of aftermarket toe arms available (Megan, Manzo, Bimmerworld, HPA, etc)
