BEST POWER MODS FOR THE 135i???
I have been reading through the post when I have time to try and identify which mods create the most power, how much they create, and what mods throw codes.
Here is what I think creates the most from hire to lower... 1. A tune 2. A turbo back exhaust-how hard are they to install and what is the cheapest one available? 3. catless 4. Intake-Do the scoops etc make that much of a difference? I know on an evo the intake didn't do much in terms of power. 5. IC It would be nice to see some dyno numbers with before and after mods. Please let me know how much power they make and what throws a code? |

To answer your question about the scoops, I have the RR scoops installed on my car and definitely notice that my aFe intake gets more air with them. It's hard to dyno this gain as the advantage doesn't occur until the car gets to speed but it is there.

it's funny how everybody cares about the power without even thinking off the reliaybility...well I just can lought @ this.
Also nobody cares whatever the Jb3 or other tune do to "your car" ecu,we only care about how many horsepower will give that bullshit... and the last thing is that most people use there car for straight lines pull's!!!wowww that's just fantastic!!! keep dreaming guys and some how one day go to the track and feel your care in other place than in Autobahn!!!! lasthing:if I was you I would first change the down pipes, the factory ones go very hot and so the turbo's 2... that's one off the most important thing's.after that change your IC. |

I don't think it's "trollish" to ask that question. I think it's a legitimate concern...one I've often thought of myself.
For example: I have done a Hondata ECU reflash and a CAI on my TSX and now the CV joints are going to hell. One could infer from that, that the CV joint are only made to handle a certain amount of torque and by increasing the output of the engine I was stressing the axles too much. Just a thought.... |

2. Downpipes = no codes and about 50hp and trq 3. Exhaust = no codes and 15hp 4. Intake = no codes and 10hp 5. scoops = not a big difference, but you might as well do it if you do the rest. 6. IC = no codes and 30+hp and trq |

I feel the JB3 tune, based on what I have read here to be fairly reliable, no real horror stories other then the fact if your HPFP is iffy, the tune may exacerbate the issue. I could be wrong, however it's been my observation.

I appreciate the responses. I'm not really concerned about crazy power I just want to spend my money on parts that make an actual difference. I see people spending 600 on an muffler for sound and not power. That is a total waste and what I'm trying to avoid. |

Ok so i'm a troll no problem but could you please tell what parameters do the "remap"(jb3 or other) change in your Ecu?
is it only a boost increase? what it does at all? Even BMS never answered my questions?why nobody ask this?you don't even have interest in your engine? and why does it increase so mucth power without F*% it all? nobody talks about the 6 cylinder failure, knew buy BMW,the overheating engine etc... I think this are smarter questions than:how many HP will I gain if i put a muffler in my car.... las point:admit we are all different and seaking different things! |

we added our exhaust and downpipes, JB3, code 3 intercooler and oilcooler and intakes. We are so happy with the results and have been posting some quick times at the track.
