Maybe I was just like Forrest Gump...I just felt like...driving! Went 1000 miles up PCH, then turned around. 2002 miles total apparently. And what I will say is that part you told me about, PCH just north of the golden gate bridge, from there heck all the way almost to the avenue of the giants is just the most epic drive. I had two stretches along there of over an hour with not a single car in front of me, just plowing and barreling through there. Was so much fun and such good therapy.
Let's see if anyone knows where this is? Sadly, i took the ATS over the 328i they had (in mineral grey) cause while we know what we're getting in the 328, which I probably wouldn't like, at least the ATS seemed to be praised for its chassis and handling in comparison tests to the 328, and it had navigation which was a nice bonus. |

OK, I'm not even going to ask WHY you didn't want to drive your Golf R on that trip (I know you don't want to put miles on the 135is, but the R would have been a blast on Hwy 1 in comparison to that ATS sled)... |

If you ever get the chance, you gotta make that drive on PCH starting just north of the golden gate bridge. Soooo much fun. Even in an ATS, though I was definitely wishing I had my 1 on me.

Maybe I'll do that at the end of the summer. Gotta tune up the car before I go on a drive like that though. New sparkplugs, rotors and front pads, Radiator flush, oil change, new tires all seem to be in my near future.

Happy 4th Uhmerika!
Stopped by a car racing shop to get suspension fluid for the mtn bike and desperately tried to convince the wifey of getting some red Sparcos and a momo flat bottom steering wheel for the 1 but it didn't work... At least my kiddo liked them!

Still haven't crossed 10k on my car yet. Almost 2 years now. The good news is a tire order is happening soon, and I haven't bought suspension parts yet either.

You going PSS? Or some other tire? I'm at 11,700 as of today for what it's worth. And Chunner, if you're out there, how many miles are you up to? And no issues with the dinan tune? I'm thinking about tunes again. |

In retrospect, I wished I'd gone 225/255. I was overly paranoid about upsizing anything and even when they accidentally sent the wrong tires, sending 225s instead of 215s for the fronts, I wouldn't take them and waited another week to stay stock 215/245. So, I think it's a smart move, will look better and offer a lil more traction.
The suspension is the tougher question with so many options and combos out there. |

I went to my local recycling center yesterday to drop off some stuff. It was my first time going there so I didn't know how to get out properly. On my way out, I was creeping along to find the exit and found myself on a huge weigh-in scale. My car clocked in at 3560lbs (or 3650 lol) with half a tank of gas (and the 190lbs me in it). It honestly didn't know that was a weighing scale...I could've taken a picture had it not said "no idling."
My car has DCT, sunroof, and premium pack. |

Taking my car to the track for the first time today. Participating in the Track Night in America at Thompson Speedway in CT. I'm so excited.

On a more serious note, I had about 10-15lbs of other stuff in the car with me at the time. I'm starting to think that the 3450 official "unladen" weight is a bit off, I'd say it's close to 3400 flat for a DCT + sunroof car. |

Whoa! That's interesting. Must be kinda exciting and weird at the same time, huh? Hopefully they'll start posting and be active, too...and/or buy your PS shocks. =P

I had a blast, I highly recommend it to everyone if they have it in their area. My tires are officially shot, time to have the PSS put on next week.
