Question about wheel size that can fit in 1-series

First off I'd like to just say that I've never bought wheels in my life. So with all the choices out there, it's difficult to know which wheels can actually fit on my 135i. How do you determine if a wheel fits? Do you trust the suggestions offered by websites after you input the make and model?

One of the wheels I'm looking at is the TSW Croft: http://www.wheelmax.com/product.asp?...9.5&Prod2P=222

The fronts are 18x8 and the rears are 18x9.5. Do you think these would fit?

There isnt enough infor there to tell you. You need to find the offsets of those wheels. The fronts need to be something like a +40 and the rears need to be around a +60.

Chances are those will not fit the 1.

I did a quick Google and found another wheel website and the TSW Croft they said that fit had an offset of 35 for the front and 45 for the rear. What would this mean if you try to put these on the 135i?

Both the front and the rear wheels would be pushed past the fender with no hope of stuffing them in. Only the most agressive of fender rolling/grinding could do it.

Hmmm...okay. Thanks. So I guess it's back to my original question. How do I make sure wheels fit? Should I only look at wheels that match the OEM 215/40R18x7.5
245/35R18x8.5 wheels?

Nope. OEM is too small. If you search you will see many wheel and tire threads about wheels being made specifically for the 1. Be patient of a few months and you will see a lot more options.
