Very few members pick to run 245's square

I wonder, why is that? I myself am considering running 245's square, and from what I've heard, there aren't many downsides to doing so.

its difficult to make the front fit right with a wheel with the proper offset for the rear

so basically, finding a wheel with the proper offset for the rear, that ALSO fits the front, is hard. Sorry if it looks like I'm just repeating what you said haha trying to wrap my head around it

exactly. The main options used by most are the 8 inch et 40 or the 8.5 inch et 40.

With a 245 both stick out too far in the front and camber/possible trimming is needed to make them fit right.

17x8 et 40 with a square 245/40 R17

You can easily fit a 245 square setup on an 8 inch 40 offset wheel.
Just quoting you from another thread I was lurking on, so, unless I'm missing something, thats the way I'm going! Appreciate the help, didnt mean to hijack.

yeah I lied there, sorta. It was a great fitment...until you hit bumps and dips, they dont do well in highways. Found out that fact a few weeks into it.

You can see how close it is. Its why I didnt notice it right away
