Have I missed something? Why so quiet for the last couple of days?

Something I liked when I was at the pca autocross was that they had a dry erase board that they had drawn out the course on. If its possible I am going to try and have my dad blow up a picture from google earth or something and print it on a dry erase board so if you wanna point out corner assignments or draw up the course you can do so. Hopefully its possible and I we can have it for next year. thoughts??

re: no autocrosses - I feel the same way about having a weekend where I didn't have to walk at least 30 miles for a training walk or for breast cancer! Sloth, here I come!
re: Andy's idea - Get the photo blown up and then get a large piece of heavy cellophane or plexiglass. Put the clear sheet over the photo and it will be writeable and cleanable. At worst, it needs a small bit of windex for cleanup. amy! |

Well, I emailed pops this morning about it. We will see what Happens. He said he would donate 1 large format print to the bmw cca boston chapter after Larry allowed him to drive my whip around an event. Larry, wanna chime in if you think this would be nice to have?
He just bought one of these suckers if anyone is confused as what i'm talking about http://www.nbm.com/newsletter/sb/tw/...apurna_M4F.JPG

Andy, we'd talked about that exact thing for the past couple of years at the autocross board meeting. For schools it would be fantastic, but for regular series events the course gets set in it's final form just as I finish the driver's meeting, and there's always a bit of a tweak from the initially designed course on paper . So, the board has always thought that it would be difficult (at best) to have a course diagram of that day's event.
As for work stations, the buckets all have different numbers on them, and maybe we could (again) begin telling people that their corner number is on the bucket on their worker station. However, for the autocross schools, it would be GREAT to have a large format course to talk with students about. That, along with a white board, would be fantastic for explaining technique. We've just never gotten around to making it happen. Glad I let your dad take a run! |

The answer is: "It can be printed on paper and a dry erase laminate put on it"

I've seen vector graphics of the runway system (Found it!) Something like that would make it easy to use dry erase on it... Just a thought! |

Orca is in for getting her top replaced (the wear hole). I've got a 328 coupe for the day. It was stop and go traffic from Peabody to work, so I didn't get to give it a good run. But it has iDrive so I got to play with that. And the nav sucks - couldn't find the road I work on! Good thing that I already knew how to get to work!

No Rust Here!
I lost a brake line in my truck last Saturday. In the process of trying to find the leak in the brake line (turned out to be between the frame rail and gas tank, which has turned into its own can of worms), I found that one of the leaf spring shackles have nearly failed.
