The few vocal haters on here are the ones who are insecure about their driving abilities and feel the need to tell everyone how great they are because they can/do drive a manual car... wooohooo... been there... done that... probably for longer than most of them have been driving... My little sister can drive a manual car... So can I, but after 20 years I've realised that it's not always the smartest choice depending on where/when you drive... I sure don't miss my clutch pedal when I'm stuck in peak hour traffic... I do occasionally miss it at other times though... It's about compromise and I have to say that with the DCT I sure don't feel like I've had to give up much... |

I'd forgotten that we can shift with the lever as well.

Coming from my G37 with column-mounted paddles, I actually want the wheel-mounted paddles. I preferred the little paddles on the Acura TSX I had as a loaner.

I only got it a bit ago so i do it everyday (time decreasing day by day though). I had a 2011 E90 335i recently for a few weeks with the traditional left right (-+) paddles and it didn't feel any better, just different. In fact, i feel that the older ones feel better when shifting up (more positive and tactile).
It is pretty stupid for MT owners to barge into every thread making a fuss. If they want to be outdated and slower, i can slightly respect that but it is like walking somewhere instead of driving there.

Longer so that it would be easier to reach them when the wheel is turned, and then pushed out more so that they almost meet up to the edge of the steering wheel.

I agree that the arguing is pointless... It's like hating on someone because of their favourite colour...
We all have different preferences, different needs, and different uses relating to our cars... What I don't agree with is people coming into a thread that obviously doesn't involve them just so that they can criticise those who've made a different choice.... It's just so amazingly JUVENILE... BUT: when it happens people are gonna react. As the ancient Tibetan Philosophy states "Don't start none, won't be none..." |

Yes, it is incredibly juvenile, and responding to juvenile behavior with more juvenile behavior is ridiculous.
Nobody wants to see this degrade into another pissing contest. |
