CRC MAF spray prematurely ages the MAF. If you don't need to use it, you shouldn't.

And if you don't have an oiled intake filter, there should be no need to use it.

they actually took it off. it came out pretty easy. they used a razor blade tool and cut as close as they could to the shark fin underneath then un bolted the antenna receiver underneath and clean the residue and off to wrapping they went. when mounting the cover back on they used some automotive glue. ill have to ask what kind but I drive my car at 155mph at times and its on there pretty good!

Dropped my car off yesterday for some KW suspension love.

Here's a picture of my car with some other cars in their lot.

Anybody happen to have the part number for the SSK lever? I don't want the boot and knob and just want the shorter throw. I've been searching and am coming up short.

Edit: nevermind, my impatient self found it. But sweet jesus that m3 is awesome. Is it actually tracked or is it a garage queen?

Based on the mods, that car has nothing to do with the track.

Hi all. I've been lurking for a couple of months, so about time that I post my latest pride & joy, a 2010 BSM MT 125i. I was initially looking for a M Perf version, but I could not go past this one with very low km, the options I wanted and several months remaining on the factory warranty. Having had several 4 pot hot hatches in recent years, I am loving the sound of the NA straight 6. While I want to keep it reasonably stock, I look forward to some subtle mods. I have golf tee'd the exhaust and have a BMS CDV ready to install at the next service. From there I am considering a slight drop, e.g. H&R OE sport or similar, but unsure how this will go with the stock dampers etc. And the $%*#! run flats will have to go, but as the originals still have plenty of tread, I may have to get used to them first. In the meantime, I am enjoying the drive.
Great forum and a lot of good advice for newbies like me. Cheers

Gotta replace my strut top mount bearings, passenger side lower control arm and passenger side sway bar endlink. At least i finally know what all my stupid suspension noise is. It's mostly the bearing that's seizing for some odd reason.

Intro

Hello! I recently purchased a 2011 128i convert. Not really what I started out shopping for, but fell in love when the salesman pulled her out from behind the building. She was fresh off a lease, low miles and optioned out.

I have been trolling around the site for the past couple of weeks learning as much as I can.

Sounds like a good reason to do //M arms. Not sure if you already did them. Hope you sort out that noise

I can't decide what to do. both front lower wishbones are 160 for oem, 200 for m3 parts. Or 400~ish for full upper and lower(uppers are fine and show no wear on my stock parts). Clearly going the m3 route is the smart thing to do, but i cant decide if i should do it piece by piece as the stock parts wear out, or all at once. I'm leaning towards just replacing both lower arms with m3 arms and then replacing the others as they wear out.

The lower arm is the one that adds camber. The upper arms with only in harder bushings, i recall it is the same lenght

I would replace the broken bits with the M3 pieces, and then do the rest as you can afford it if you are doing your own work. If you are having someone else do it, do them all at once so you don't get bent over on install costs.

Thank you... freshly cleaned for the mug shot. Job #1 after I picked up the car in May was a wash, clay bar and wax, so washes since have been simply to remove road grime & the usual brake dust.

No wheel spacers AFAIK. I think the large amount of tyre tread you see, particularly on the LH front, is simply the gap between the tyre and wheel arch (~40-50mm) with the stock suspension.
