Who does custom tunes for MHD only? (I need a custom tune)

I'm FBO and E-85 and need a custom tune. The OTS stuff isn't working as well as it did last year, STFT's are beyond the limit and the car gets mad at me.

You testing for the amount of ethanol actually in your local pump? Seasonal blends can get pretty drastic up north, cutting your supposed e85 all the way back to ~e50 in some cases. That'll wreak havoc on your trims if you don't compensate.

The chart is at the end of this pdf which shows when the 4 different seasonal blends are available in different areas around the country. Blend 1 is ~e85, blend 4 is around ~e50

Every pump I've ever been to in NY specifies a minimum content of E70

E70 tof E85 is still a big variance, but nothing too crazy that trims can't compensate.

I sent him an email. Just waiting to hear back.

Thing these people really need is a space. All of us want to know who to talk with and none of us know what to expect.
Do these people have hours they normally do this within? 8am-5pm, afterwork as a side job? whenever they feel like it?
What is the best way to contact them for the quickest response? Most are on numerous non-connected forums, social media, etc. I imagine it's difficult to keep all the varying straight and respond in timely manners. The tuners need to do a better job at saying what they want.

I worked with Ken/Wedge a while back. Wouldn't hesitate to work with him again. He's the one who set the OTS tunes for MHD. Intelligent guy, knows his BMW shit.

That said, generically for any tuner for any car brand, you should feel free to ask questions- it's your car and your tune. You have every right to be comfortable with what's going in, to understand, at least as much as you want to anyway, the work being done and why it makes sense. There is money changing hands, you have every right to be comfortable before, during and after the process.

Note- I was a tuner in the Mazdaspeed world for several years. I worked with over 250 unique customers, and crafted more than 400 custom tunes for profit. This type of business relies on customer comfort and trust. If, as a tuner, you can't earn that trust you won't be in business for long.

Just wanted to clarify.

I used Ken for my 93 oct tune and am quite happy. Just be clear with what your goals are and he'll work with you to achieve them.

Another vote for Wedge. He tuned my N54 335i...love it, and it is a *safe* tune (he will build to order based on your idea of risk/goals). When the CPO runs out on my N55 135i and I go FBO, I will get a Wedge tune for that as well.
