Another slek trunk 2x2 ds
2x2 ds.
my comments are based on my personnel experience. The trunk arrive 2 weeks ago. Minor crack in the cf. However it was fix by a local body shop and HPautowerks/slek pick up the bill. Thanks to Harold and his customer service........... The crack had nothing to do with shipping. It was not worth to return the trunk. However slek should invest a bit of money in their cardboard box. The box is not thick enough for shipping that kind of product internationally......food for thought. thanks to Nicky for a few pointers on the installation. The installation is basically easy. However the middle brake light is or can be challenging. Because there is no backing to support the hardware. I did not use double sided tape. I bought a brand new light and cut it in half. then remove as much material as possible. Then re-glue the 2 half together. Then press fit back in the slot and seal everything with black RTV. Also, slek should add a few ribs from the inside just behind where the handle is located. (between where the bmw roundel is located and the third brake light) By pressing to hard on the handle, the cf as a tendency to deform under your hand pressure. I'm still playing with some adjustment. I like to reduce the gab between the trunk and the brake lights. Maybe the gap is normal. I don't have any close picture from anyone. Under than that. I had a few BMW drivers stop on red lights telling me that the car look great. I personally love the look. I'm not too sure about the comments regarding the lip. some people compare the lip with the Icarbon. I don't see anything wrong with the lip on the slek trunk. But then again, i have never seen an Icarbon trunk on a car personally. Last edited by hyper1; 04-20-2013 at 09:12 PM.. |

Looks good! Flows well with all the other CF. I'd say paint the hood though.

Hood
I,m still waiting for the new wheels.
Vmr 710 powder coated midnight blue. Then I will have a better idea of what to do. However, how would you or which part of the hood would you paint My idea is to have one strip black line from the front fender running along way back to the trunk and maybe a blue one next with it. The strip lines would be to tie the wheels and all the cf together. However, I,m open to suggestions Thanks Hyper1 |
