BMW Performance Suspension Kit
I finally got my bmw suspension kit from Turner Motorsports.
I opened the box and was pretty surprised to find out how thin the front swaybar is. Does this seem really thin anyone else? The rear swaybar is more then twice as thick. |

The thicker one is the front. It's the second one from the top in your picture

Really can't tell from the pic. But the whole kit is meant to work together - the front and rear bars are spec'd for a balance. There is a thread in this Suspension section about sway bars that will give you more insight.
What springs did you get with the kit? There is a Tx number either on a tag or painted on them.

Thanks - I'm guessing your car is either MT or auto without a lot of options that add weight.

Nice find on a MT without a lot of options. I will admit of all the extra stuff on my car, the sunroof is the one thing I would have picked.

My car left the old Trabant factory with two options. Silver paint and butt warmers. The sunroof was standard. No choice, unless i assume one special ordered the car.

Yeah, when I had a 911 and then went to a Cayman, not having a sunroof in the Cayman was my biggest issue. I basically only close the sunroof in my 135i when it rains...which, in Portland, is rather often, I guess. lol

And I am just the opposite. I am getting rid of my M Roadster because I bought my friends Cayman. I can only use the sunroof on the BMWs and Volvos when i am in traffic. The buffeting at speed annoys me. I couldn't take the sunroof off my 1st gen RX-7s, or 944s because of the buffeting. Saratoga tops to the rescue for those.

When did you order the kit? I tried to order it from Turner back in Mid April, and they told me they couldn't get it, since it was EOP from BMW.

They are supposed to, so you get the right springs.

OP's car is a lightly optioned MT 128i. T1/T1 are almost surely the correct springs. I did a lot of digging to make sure I would be happy with the BMWP springs I received.
Still wouldn't hurt to be sure before installation.

Oh. I was assuming it was the 2012 128i below your username. Call almost any BMW dealer with your VIN before you go through the time and/or expense of installing the kit. Decent chance that T1/T1 are not correct.

You can call ECS also. They have the ability to look it up by your vin.
Re: sunroofs, I wanted only a few options. Sport seats, no I drive, bi-xenon. The sunroof is one I didn't want but having it isn't so bad. It's big so opening is nice from time to time. Only option I wanted but don't have is power seats. The manual seats are ok but it's a challenge to get it just right. Strangely my wife's mini has every option available except a sunroof, nav & power seats. On minis there are a lot of options. The PO must have ordered it special.

According to turner, the performance package does not come with different spring rates for my car. "That only applies to factory replacement springs. The sport kit only has one spring option." |
