How long does it take from when the ship docks at the port to the day you pick up...

How long does it take from when the ship docks at the port to the day you pick up your car at the dealer, on average?

My dealer (in NJ) told me my ship was scheduled to arrive at the port today, 7/27, so when can I expect to be able to pick up my car? It's marked as a sold car so it's already top priority.

Depends where in NJ it is going and if the car was first or last off the boat. There are a few variables in the mix. Which boat? If it was to be on the MIGNON it is scheduled to dock tomorrow night at 7:00 PM which is the latest I have from the port itself. If you were on the SHENANDOAH HIGHWAY it is scheduled to dock at 10:00 AM tomorrow. Here is the link to check ship status http://www.firstnynj.com/ then click on Vessel Activity and then enter under Terminal: Public Berth - NJ and in the Berth box: 17 as that is the berth that they unload into BMW's VPC lot.

Yep, it's on the Mignon according to what the shipping website says when I enter my VIN. It says arrival is the 28th but my dealer told me the 27th is when the ship's supposed to be here so I don't know. Anyway, it's docking at the NJ Berth and my dealer's in NJ and it's 1st priority so hopefully it'll be a fast process.

Your car is on the boat with mine. The 27th was the original date of arrival but the boat was stuck in South Hampton a extra day probably picking up Mini's. Depending on what type of relationship you have with your dealer and they have with BMWNA they can get your car through the VPC very fast. If there is no damage on my car it should be at the dealer on Friday afternoon. Hopefully they can prep it and install the accessoires and deliver her to me on Saturday morning.

Nice. I ordered from Morristown because the dealer told me in an email he had two Jet Blacks "available." By available I assumed he meant on the lot but no, he meant on the way from Germany.

What I'm most mad about is I was between 2 car choices. The reason I went with the dealer I did is because they told me the car was "available," whereas the other dealer told me it was definitely coming in that week. And just my luck, the other dealer I didn't go with got their car in a few days later and the dealer I DID go with meant "available" = on the boat from Germany. He's been saying, "Oh this weekend," "No later the next week, and now it's NEXT week.

My car was docked June 21st, and i picked up my car till July 1st.. My salesman originally told me a 5-7days, but it ended up being about 10.

3 1/2 days - ship docked in Chas on Sunday, car arrived today, and picking up tomorrow!! Amazing.

Here is something messed up. You got to the site for port and vessel tracking and they tell me that the boat is suppose to arrive 7/29 at 3:00 AM then you got to the shipping company's site and the ship was scheduled to arrive today. Then you look at the cargo tracking section on their site and put in the VIN and it says it was discharged (unloaded) yesterday at 4:04 PM so who is right and who is wrong? That is the question of the night....LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, me and FrankNJ are in the same boat... literally, haha. Both of our cars are on the same ship scheduled by the shipping company to have arrived tonight, listed to have arrived yesterday, and shown to be arriving tomorrow according to the port website. Confusing, I know.
