Placing my order from Iraq tomorrow. Good deal?

I'm Currently deployed, I will be placing my order tommorrow. I'm ordering a 2009 135i, Space Grey, 6MT, Sport Package with Comfort Access and IPOD\USB. Apparently 2009 prices are not out yet, but they guaranteed me that my cost delivered, will be no more than $34,875. Of course I realize this is a good deal by US purchase standards, I'm curious what the people who have gotten the military pricing think? Any other military people order 09's yet?

THANKS!

I'm stationed in the UK and I just ordered my 135i two days ago. The same story came to me that 2009 prices are not out yet, but the salesperson was hopeful they'd only be around a 1% difference. I'm little nervous because it's an uknown cost, but we'll see. If I hear the 2009 prices first, I'll be sure to post. Stay safe...

Yep, did the MSP while I was overseas, paid no sales tax once I got into the states. Best deal you can get, trust me.

Meanwhile, keep your head down.

Darned lot of you pilots here. Mucho thanks for doing what you're doing, and I'm glad you guys are kicking our asses on pricing. Seems more than fair.

No matter what the price turns out to be, you're going to get a way better deal the the MSP. I'm out of here in week, but won't pick up my car until the 17th. I've been thinking about my car the whole deployment. I'm jealous that you're getting Space grey. Had that option been available for 08 I would have got it. If you decide to change your mind they will give you your deposit back, but it obviously has to be before they start builiding the car. Good luck with your deployment!

Congrats on the purchase! Did you order through pentagon? There is not a better deal out there than the MSP. :roundel:It also seems like there is a lot of deployed military on this forum going home except me!

LOL Sorry swift! Did my 15 months, and it was time to come home. Don't worry, there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

OP, that sounds like a good deal, and the same deal that everyone of us that did the Military sales got. On top of it, you shouldn't have to pay sales tax to register your vehicle, (depending on your state), so its even more of a discount than it looks at first.

Oh, and all of you stay safe that are still over there!

I leave for deployment again on Tuesday morning!
I ordered mine from Pentagon. I placed my order one day too late for the 08 now I'm stuck with no SGM.

Has anyone seen a Space Gray car with a lemon interior? I'm not sure how it will look.

I'm placing my order through Superior MSP. Of course, im now comtemplating more options. I'm a little hesitant about the Space Grey. I love the SGM. I spent a good long time lookin at lots of Space Grey 3 series, and decided its still a great color. I seems like one of those colors that really looks great in person. I can't seem to find any out here in Iraq though...maybe in a few years

Hey Hawk,

I ordered mine from the states(was too impatient to wait for 3-4months with Pentagon...would've save me 4k though) in SGM and there really isnt a comparison due to the metallic flecking (paint shop took almost a week to get the color exactly right for my spoiler and sideskirts). I think they may have discontinued the color for price reasons. All that being said, Superior or Pentagon both have very similar prices. You will receive roughtly $4k off of MSRP as well as the no tax thing. Superior in Germany was selling some 128i as low as $25,500 when I was there last week. The military and us people working with the military really do get some great deals on cars.
Head and heels down brother!

Yeah, I must say I didn't see any either. I went through Superior Motors as well, mostly a good experience, but my CA (Paul Magill) was a little spotty about responding to emails once I actually placed my order. Had to get in touch with his boss at one point, after which he was a lot more promt about responding to me. Good company though.

You can't beat the military pricing so don't even worry about it. And depending on your state you'll save on taxes, too. My total savings, almost $8K.

Be safe fellow Hawk Driver. You should change your user name to HawkPilot135.

Iraq/Afghanistan/Qatar/Djibouti Orders

I think you're getting a good deal. Sounds about the same as what I paid through through Pentagon Car Sales. My salesman is Mathias Hemmer and he rocks!! He's very good about returning emails and phone calls the same day, and got mine ordered, built and scheduled for delivery quick! Now production for '08 is done (full of orders until final production day). You may have to wait until Sep/Oct if you place an order now. email this guy and he'll take care of you! mathias(dot)hemmer(at)pentagoncarsales(dot)com

It's nice to see all you Iraq vets on here; my great adventure was in Viet Nam a long time ago, where the war was bigger, wetter, hillier (in places) but not nearly as nasty - and we weren't required to spend so much time there - one tour was sufficient, thanks.

Yeah, while I've done my time in Iraq and Afghanistan (and most likely will do some more), I think I'm the only one in this thread who plans to take possession of my 135 outside the US. Is there anyone else out here purchasing their BMW in the UK? Also, I wonder how delivery time will be once it's produced? Is there any hope that production and delivery will be faster for the MSP? Fingers crossed...

Oh, and for those of you considering the SGM --hold out if you can. It's a great color. I'm currently driving a 2004 120i hatchback (UK spec) in SGM. Absolutely love it, but after 3+ years with it, it's time to try something different.

Since we're throwing out names of sales reps, I'd like to recomend mine. Lisa Dimmick from First Choice Military Sales. She has been a real pleasure to work. I started e-mailing her well before I deployed about 9-10 months ago and she always quickly responded to god knows how many e-mails I sent here.

Ordered my 135 from Rhein BMW and they took care of me. My CA Mike Calton was on the money. Went there instead of Pentagon thought the service was better. By the way, your quoted price seems about right. I was told it might be be up to 5 % more than the 08.

hey, i goofed on the price in an earlier post. it's actually a thousand dollars less when adding the factory (bmw world) delivery in munich and temporary road tax, customs, licensing and insurance. ciao! keep up the fight, brothers, and get home to enjoy your rides if you're downrange.
