AEM wideband sensor placement

Anyone know where to put an AEM wideband O2 sensor?

I have a set of BMS downpipes, but I want to have a bung welded on for an A/F gauge before I install them.

As such, there's no current way to look under the car (I'd just be dropping them off) to locate an ideal place to put it.

Could some one post a pic with a picture perhaps marked where to put the O2 bung?

These cars have wideband o2's from the factory

Just use your logging device or pickup a P3 in dash guage to display those parameters.

AR design have the option of an extra wideband O2 bung on their downpipes. Maybe see if you can find out exactly where they put it. Or even pick up a set of them and sell you surrent pipes.

This. And if you install in one downpipe, you're only seeing 3 cylinders worth of AFR... seems a bit pointless.

I don't want to plug in my AP every time I get in my car.

Also, I'm going to install JB4 and use my AP for the backend flash, so I'll lose can-bus monitoring.

And if your HPFP takes a dive on e85, half a bank is good enough tell.

Should not be too close to the turbos or it will overheat. I'd say at least 18 inches away. Should be before any catalytic converters.

It needs to be mounted so gravity will not drain condensation into the sensor as this will ruin it quickly.

You can buy a stainless bung and have it welded in by an exhaust shop.

You can mount it farther back in the midpipe, but the signal will be delayed at low loads. At high loads, the delay isn't that much as velocity is high. For simple troubleshooting and spotting problems this isn't a big deal, but for precise tuning and log analysis you want it as close as you can without burning the sensor out.

Easier said than done with a 3" DP to be honest. There's very little room for the OEM sensors let alone an additional sensor. Your best bet will probably be the bank 1 turbo right before the factory rear o2.

Can you discuss why you would like an A/F versus an EGT?

The AR has different bung locations than the BMS, you may want to keep that in consideration.

My AR downpipes only have O2 bungs, no additional for a wideband. I checked A'S website after looking at mine and they are $20 ea additional bung.
