You've got to be joking. There was a minimum of 3-5 car lengths between them the entire time. That's not eve CLOSE to tailgating. The guy in the BMW was completely out of line, and he's lucky the Mazda driver kept his cool and let it slide.

WTF??
Guy shouldn't even be driving if he can't handle somebody 3+ car lengths behind him. That's exactly where you should be.

If you don't want to be tailgated, slow down and let him pass you; no big deal to me.

I think the filmed BMW driver was over reacted and he put himself in a very dangerous situation since he could not know how the other car's driver would react (like having a gun in hand for self-defense ...).

just wave him by.

i have had many 'spirited' runs in the mountains with many different types of cars. if i feel the car behind me is holding back, I will always pull out and wave him by. then get on him and see if i can hang with him. always end the run with a horn beep or a flash of the highbeams. just good friendly fun.

the bmw driver in the video is an insecure douchebag

Wish all drivers were like you. Recently had an experience where a friend of mine in a WRX and I did a mountain twisty run, and got stuck behind a pr*ck in a Toyota Tundra that would not pull over despite me flashing him before every turn off spot.
That day I did play the part of an ass BMW driver, because I did tailgate him (at 30 MPH) the whole way over the mountain.

That was no way close to tailgating. Even if the 335 thought the MS3 was too close, he could have just waved him by at some point.

What a douche. You approach someone sitting in their car like that, its a threat. He is very lucky he didn't get ran over or in a physical altercation. Not to mention the stupidity of stopping in the middle of a road with blind corners that people drive fast on...

and if you've ever done skip barber performance school, the instructors take you out for the 1st real track session: you get a 911, they take the mazda 3's as pace cars and you can't keep up with them :-) later on they take out something faster, but you'd be surprised what those 3's will do.

By Australian standards, the car behind was so far back the car in front would be 'out of sight'. Seriously, you can be 3m from somebody here and think it's normal.

That BMW driver is a right fuck.

It does remind me of this.

My god i am sooo happy with that ending. Thank god that dood had a gun, I think i prob would too if I was in that kinda area. Fuckin pricks, I honestly had no idea he was gonna have the camera at the end, so great

P.S. I wouldnt call what the BMW driver did road rage at all, he tried several times to just get the toyota drivers to fuck off, didnt try n "race" em or egg em on at all. Till finally he just had nuff, but really he did bout the smartest thing in that situation, drove em down a single back road with noone around, stopped n pulled the gun. I mean i dont say just pullin guns on people anytime is good at all, but obviously then it was, the redneck **** had a bat, I wouldve done the exact same thing, hell my girl and my car is at stake. So yea, it wasnt road rage at all

Exactly. Flashers on, pull off to the shoulder, wave the other guy to pass if it's safe to do so. Coming to a complete and total stop in the middle of the road is insane.

Oh, and word to the wise: if you're hell-bent on starting a confrontation, going on foot to confront someone who's remaining in his own 3,000 pound vehicle (and weapon) is not the smartest move, tactically speaking.

By the way, that video was a fake - for entertainment purposes only. (And it was entertaining, I have to admit...)

Mazda driver seems to be consistently 2 seconds behind the BMW, a good safe distance on a dry road surface - not tailgating by any definition,
