"Vehicle being assembled"
Well after 10 days of being told my "vehicle is in production" and a January 20 estimated completion date by the nice recorded voice on the 800 number, it changed to "vehicle is being assembled", still with the Jan 20 completion date (today!).
I guess now that they have cut out all the parts, they just need to fit tab A into slot B! I assume assembly is *really* fast and they work late at the factory. |

Glad to hear your 1 is on the way. The wait will not be easy, but - as others have correctly said - it will be worth it. And, on the plus side, you have the forum as a "support group" to help while away the eternity until delivery. And on that note, didn't somebody post a print-out cut-out folding paper 1 on this forum? (Hope I'm not mistaken) THAT would be a good project to help kill time.

Thanks for the support!
While the site has been down, I tracked the Paris Express from off the coast of France. It's now docked and should start loading today. Anyone post a 'vert mod to the paper 1? |

on the Fedora
Just a quick update.
My car got loaded on Thursday last week. Found out yesterday that it's actually on the Fedora (not the Paris Express). Also a nice name - Fedora = Red Hat Linux! After a quick visit to NYC, the ship is due in Oxnard on the 22nd. CA says it should be at the dealership by March 1st. I'm going crazy.... |

If I was in SF, I'd loan you mine for the weekend. February is, statistically, the shortest month. But for you, my friend, I'm afraid it's going to be very, very long indeed. Again, it will be worth the wait. I hope you have your "first drive" plotted out.

Got it!
The wait is over!
I picked up my 1er one Tuesday evening. 60 mile drive home in the pouring rain. Handled like a dream. My first drive to work I was followed for a mile by a motorcycle cop and then smoked by a 'vette. This car get's a lot of attention on the road. I'll post pictures this weekend once the rain clears up. |

pics of first topless moments
There was a momentary clearing of the storm clouds this morning that allowed me to take some quick pics and actually drive into work with the top down.
Not the greatest shots, but enjoy! |

Yup I know what you mean about the wait, I only just received mine on the 27th of Feb. The wait was excruciating but damn was it well worth it, I love her so far!

Gorgeous- looks awesome with the terra. Enjoy it. Just got mine (AW 128i 6-MT, black ette, coupe) 2 weeks ago--worth the wait for sure--PHENOMENAL car. "Wunderbar" as the Germans would say. And, yeah, it draws a lot of attention--which is cool. Almost had a riced up Acura RSX crash into a curb (in my neighborhood) while staring at my car-- hee hee, that was funny. For me, not for him. And, an BMW X3 actually stopped right in the middle of the road in our development, to see what my little Bimmer was. Too funny. Plus people who I never even knew at work (when I was driving an Acura RSX-S) are now, like, "sweet car."
