ultimate drive

I just got an email from BMW talking about " The ultimate drive."

Does anyone really know what that is all about?

Has anyone gone to one of the events?

Thanks.

Sounds like the event where you can drive and compare the E90 against the G35, A4, Acura TL. I think it's the even in these threads

the ultimate drive, is the cancer thingy

you drive a car around about a 10 mile loop through city traffic then give it back, it's OK but not that great

The one in Houston is in the Reliant Stadium parking lot (where the Texans play), so I think they are setting up some type of track with cones is what I would guess.

not true,

as they've got the cars all scheduled out, I guess you could drive wherever you wanted, but that would prevent other people who sign up from having the experience too.

It's certainly NOT a just walk up and go drive type of event, you may be able to drive if you just show up, but you'll have to wait and probably get a 5 series wagon to drive. People sign up in advance to drive all the good cars

man this thread is confusing. I think there's two different events being discussed here. Ward is talking about a non-performance type event? And some others are talking about the ultimate driving type event where you compare the E90 against the A4/G35/TL.

I went to the Susan Komen drive event at IG Burton (BMW dealer) in Milford Delaware, You could drive any of the BMW cars, as many times and different cars as you desired. They had every car / Suv that BMW makes!!! If you can make it, GO!!! Even had a great BBQ lunch with a whole roasted pig and all the trimmings !! If you own a BMW, you can go!! IMHO

Ultimate Driving event in NY

There is an Ultimate Driving Experience event at Shea Stadium on September 23-25. It includes:

Autocross - a two hour closed-course session taught by professional driving instructors, with a chance to test the 3-series and some competitors.

Student Driver program - for young people ages 15-20

The Ultimate Drive for the Susan G. Komen Cancer Foundation - drive your favorite BMW models and BMW makes a donation on your behalf ($1 per mile, I think).

I got the an invitation in the mail, and promptly signed up for the Autocross part.

I don't know whether you can sign up without having received an invitation. But you can check by calling 1-888-344-4BMW.
