You'll be right with a tune installed, the car is not running so it shouldn't be an issue. There are still bugs in BMW's updates though, i still have cars out there with issues, i hope they are resolved soon.

Looks like the guys at Burger Motorsports where true to their claim.

Got the car back today from BMW after having the V2/31.2 ECU upgrade and the JB3 went undetected..

Car doesn't feel any different, just all the annoying service warning lights seem to have been rectified.

Did you feel any difference with the previous upgrades, I heard there was less turbo lag. I'm getting my SSK fitted by BMW as its the same price to get it done by them as it is others. However they're insisting it needs a re-program which Andrew kindly informs me is:bs:

A SSK with software programming? Yep. That's bullshit.

Hi Mate...After the initial upgrade which was some months ago, there was definately an improvement..

The slight lag that was present beforehand was no longer there aswell as overall smoothness of engine in lower rev range.

Try turning off the DTC  Speaking of which I went up to Newcastle via Pacific Highway & Wollombi yesterday and had an absolute hoot! No one on the roads at all. Happy Days!!

Thanks, I'll get them to do the re-program!!

Who on this forum would leave their DTC on ??:iono:

With the JB3 the DTC has to be turned off therwise you just bog down at high rpm gear changes.. The DTC takes over completely and its almost like the car is missfiring at WOT.

Ummmm, me? I must admit that I am quite happy with how the car handles in 'default' mode. I don't race at the track, I tootle around and enjoy myself. Am I sick? Don't think so. Am I not welcome here? Don't think so.

Kris you will find that is the sensible way to operate the DTC and "most of us" who do play around with the DTC, do that aswell..

I keep it on half way when I'm 'out & about', off at the track, on when its raining. Having said that I usually get cabs when it's raining; wouldn't want to get the car wet

First push only partially turns off but if you hold for 3 seconds it turns totally off and a triangle should come up on your dash.

I went into my dealer this am to book the car in for SSK fitting. The guy swore to me that the reprogram was required so I asked him to check the parts manual. When he double checked the DO NOT REPROGRAM was underlined!!! Thanks to Andrew at SouthernBM for making sure I wasn't charged for unnecessary work.

When you press the DTC button once quickly it just turns off the DTC but does it still reduce power by as much as when DTC+DSC are both enabled?

No mate... Too get the max power to the rear wheels you have to totally disable DTC by holding the button down for the 3 or so seconds.

But this isnt a always a good thing to do..

If you have a tune you will find that you will have trouble getting traction at WOT with the DTC fully disabled although you are still getting max KW at the rear wheels.

I found to get the best 0-100 times with the JB3 I had to only partially disable the DTC..

Does that all make sense..
