JB4 Switching maps on own

I noticed that my car felt slower today so I opened up the maps with the steering wheel control and saw it was on map 4 (never put it on map 4, ever), so I move it to map 5, and drive to the next light and check it again and it switched itself back to map 4. I'm sure I was out of the menu, so has anyone else had this issue of JB4 switching maps on its own?

It's a JB4 protection feature, you know so you won't blow your engine up.

What the person above me said.

There's a thread on the n54 tech forum about this. Also, the service engine soon light should flash X number of times depending on what it is protecting you from.

JB4 switches to map 4 if 1- your car is running very lean or 2- car is dangerously overboosting.

Either way you need to send logs to Burger tuning so they can figure out what is causing this issue.

Are you running too much E85?

Could be on old firmware with a normal amount of E85 in the tank, boosting over the user defined failsafe. You used to have to adjust that up manually.

That said, OP you need to do a log and find out why it's knocking you down to Map 4.

Gotcha, I do run e85. 30%. I have jb4, a berk race exhaust, and an evo cp. I'll have to log it and see. Thanks for the info.

That's weird because it hasn't flashed the service engine soon light, I'll have to run a log. Thanks for the info.
