Traction control jerking the car around.
Is it normal for the car to jerk around while traction control kicks in? I understand the car uses the brakes and cuts fuel to maintain traction, but this seems like it goes way overboard compared to every other car I've had. I'm used to when the car loses tractions, it cuts the fuel and maybe dabs the brakes and the car slows down a bit until it gets traction back. With my 135, it seems to jam on the brakes over and over again, jolting the car several times until I let off the gas altogether or it finally gets traction. I had to hit the DTC button just to keep all the teeth in my head.

Maybe I've just never driven something that loses traction so easily. The roads in San Antonio are covered in oil because it rains so rarely. So when it does rain, plus it's cold, there's no traction.

Whatever runflats came with the car. I never bothered learning exactly what they are, because they are runflats. I'm pretty sure they are all weather which works 99% of the time here. Just not when it's 33 degrees and raining.

So you are on crappy summer touring runflats in wet 33 degree weather and are surprised that traction control is kicking in?

I'd say the summer run flats, low temps, wet pavement, and a lot of throttle will kick in the TC pretty easy. Live with it for the few days per year you have below 44 degrees or switch out the tires.
My NB Miata with summer threads will even turn the tires over easy below 40 and that car has little torque.

Once I switched to winters I noticed 1st to 2nd TC kicked in more aggressively. Lots of throttle cut and brakes cutting in harder in the back. I think BMW put a lot of nanny into traction control programming. Keeps me from getting into too much trouble. When I had my run-flats on in early November and the temps dropped below 40 is was hard to keep the TC light from not glowing.
Best way to tell is wait for a warm mid-50's or higher dry day and try it again.
