135 joins syblings

We brought the car home, March 15, and of course it rained on the way home. I will take some more pictures this weekend.

The sun came out -- pictures are out of order -- next is a plate decision. The other cars have PCA plates. The front plate is going to compromise the look of the front.

GREAT collection. But I would be VERY scared parking in that lot. That UGLY Pickup is VERY close to the 1.

You are in need of a garage...but that is a mighty fine parking lot none the less. Do you find the maintenance on the 964 alot higher that the SC? I've only driven Porsches up to this point...I'm still not convinced a 964 or 993 might fit my purposes better than the 135. Side airbags are really the number one reason I'm looking at the BMW. I look forward to a writeup.

Thanks; but, the ugly pickup is the Blingmobile is a great tow vehicle and is protection for the other cars. Bad picture of Trackster and Blingmobile. Notice a penchant for German cars?

Maintenance on the 964 is harder on the 964 then the SC; but the AC works and no longer exists on the SC anyway. SC was easier with only 6 spark plugs and a simpler exhaust. The exhaust must be pulled to adjust the exhaust valves. The SC is still torsion bar car, JRZ 2 way race shocks, and Smart Racing trick parts so everything is adjustable. SC morphed to 95 993 engine with hydraulic lifters, then morphed to RS spec with mechanical lifters and VRam.

I purchased the 135I as a daily driver to replace the Boxster S. The 135I is the perfect solution. Sally uses the 964 as her daily driver. The newest 993 is 10 years old and there are purported SAI issues. I upgraded the engine from the 993 no VRam to RS spec when the valve guides started to go (another known issue). But that engine had 125 plus track days including drives by well known pros, so I think I got my money out of it.

PM me if you want more information.

Very nice, Alan! I hear you about the rain as well. I opted to not have the front plate mounted as well. What do you think you'll do for plates?

What's with the advertising on the back? My CA said to me "I knew you wouldn't want to advertise for us, so I didn't even do a license plate frame." I thought that was nice of him.

Thank you, Larryn. My CA was very nice and said they could remove it for me if I wanted -- I said I would remove it myself. And the frame will be gone when I get my plates. Still haven't decided what we want for plates, vanity plates, 'save the bay', veterans, PCA, standard...

Plates, I am stuck with using front and back plates and they do stop you and ticket you here. I will mount a front plate, but I will delay it as long as I can.
