I Agree NAV promt bypass
When is someone going to stop being lazy and make one of these, http://www.coastaletech.com/nav_kit.htm, for our car?

I dont honestly see the point of something like that. I mean big deal you press down on your I-Drive when you get into the car. Its like automatic for me now. If we couldnt imput information or something like that then yes its worth it but we can so thats probablly why no one made one yet.

who cares about that msg. If you're too lazy to push a button, then don't order the Idrive cuz you have to use the button a lot. $99 for turning that screen off? Please...give me a break. You guys should complain about other reasonable things.

Just imagine you traded turning headlights on for being allowed to use your nav.
Showing the screen every time you turn the car on is ridiculously stupid though. They could easily program it to show up once a month or something.

It would be nice if they made it a once a day or once a week per keyfob thing but I'm not gonna pay for anything that does that for me. I'll just press the button when I get in.

The one for the honda was made mostly so that you can actually use the navigation while driving, not so much for the "accept" screen. Be thankfull that ours don't have that non-sense.

Why do you lot have to do this?? My I drive starts straight away first with the BMW screen as its loading and then goes to the comunication/nav/climate/entertaiment screen. Don't need to press any thing!
Its the first time I heard about this. Is this the same for the ppl who have had the recent software update. |

NPinUK, there is a US law that requires a confirmation screen for navigation system. Since people sue for anything here, BMW had to take some action
This used to bothered me at first but now I'm just using to tapping the iDrive Knob as soon as I start the car. I don't think I would pay 100 dollar to remove which could also somehow damage the system/void the warranty

They also aren't allowed to close their windows via the key fob (by holding down the lock button) Shows you - it's nice to be able to sue your gardener for dirtying your car - and making him pay to have it cleaned UNTIL everyone is too affraid to be a gardener, and you have to do the lawn yourself. |

I wouldnt pay 100 either. But being that it would only be there to ok the knob, maybe someone would thing of a cheap and efficient way of doing it. If it was 20 bucks, I wouldnt think twice and get it.
Maybe someone that pulses a push signal of the knob X amount of seconds after the car is started.

I agree the disclaimer screen is an annoyance and by-product of our "politically correct," litigious American society. Do we honestly need to look at that screen multiple times a day, 365 days a year?
It's not about being lazy about pushing one button. It's a friggin inconvenience. |

Nav message
I don't mind the "accept" messagem but what would make more sense would be if you could set up the nav to start on the perspective screen so that you would not have to go through four menu's to get there. That's silly idrive for you....

These shortcuts work for each of the 4 main menus on startup, and at anytime afterwards. |
