I picked up a 1 Series Accessory Catalog from the dealer this morning. It says the Aero Kit is available only for the 128i coupe & convertible.
Looks like you would lose the fog lights in the 128 based on the picture. |

It's 6K more and if you arent really crazy of the performance it is a good option. I will most likely go with a 135 but if I were to go for the 128 I would get this option. It's not offered on the 135 b/c the MTech does already look good...like someone else said it simply to make the 128 look sportier..
Just IMHO.. M. |

I hated the front kit at first. Then liked it. Now I'm indifferent.
On the other hand I'm not a huge fan of the giant plastic bumper on the rear of the base 128i and I think the rear kit (aka the 135i rear) looks better. My CA is currently checking with the parts department to see if they can get the parts and what it would run for paint & install. A few of the numbers are still a rough guess but it looks completely reasonable at the moment. About half the cost that I see people quoting for 3-series rear M-tech installs. I'm going to swing by the dealer again later this week to take a closer look at the two trim levels and finalize my decision but unless something changes I'm going to have them order a rear aero kit with hopes of having it installed before I drive the car home for the first time (even if I have to leave it there for a few extra days after delivery). I'd offer to post pics if I go through with it but it wouldn't look any different than a 135i rear end and it won't be in for 3-4 weeks anyway. |

I wish the 128 sport package included the same M Aero kit, steering wheel and 18" wheels as the 135 sport. Even if they charged extra $ for it. That's one thing Mercedes does that I like: the C300 & C350 sports look identical.

what i've been wondering, might as well post it here, is whether the side skirts on the aero kit, 128 & 135 (which are all 3 slightly different) are the same height in the front - as in, would any of the 3 front bumpers line up correctly with them. anybody feel like measuring.. ? |

IDK if this is NEW news to anyone...but they will be letting out the Tii kits on the 1's and 3's this year...and the actual Tii's are coming roughly in the start of 2011 and the Tii will be offered in the 1,3,X1,and X3...
