I do agree that the auto dimming mirror is a great thing to have especially in a car that sits low like the 1. IMO the auto dimming mirror is a luxury feature as it provides you with the luxury of not having to switch the mirror back and forth. It is a cheap luxury item but still just that.

I agree that a auto dimming mirror probably should be included with a $40,000 car but $40,000 cars don't all have an inline six twin turbo with ///M sport suspension either:iono:

An electronic device that at most saves you from reaching up to face level twice a day is not a luxury item? I thought BMW's didn't even have cupholders standard until recently.

Interesting-I want almost all the things in the premium package except for the auto dimming rear view mirror. I have read stories in Roundel of getting into one's car just to find out that the mirror failed and leaked fluid all over the gearbox...

Well, if BWM wqould just let us order the options a al carte like on the MINI, this would not be an issue. But, that is not how they roll.

Jeff some purists don't want all the electronic gizmoos. This is BMW catering to the consumer, don't fault BMW.
