Heard the same thing today. I then spoke live to a CS rep who told me that my car was probably already at the port.

I hope so!

My car was finished on 4/17 and it's still "in transit to the port of exit". Not sure if it really takes that long to get from the factory to the port or if the system just isn't being updated properly.

My car is now "at the port awaiting a shipping vessel." I guess it'll be on the next ship that's loading up bimmers?

My car has been in that status since the 4/7. According to my SA, the car has been sitting at the port since 4/14 and still hasn't found a boat to come on over.

It only takes a day to get to port once it leaves the factory. I was done April 3rd and got to the port on the 8th. Maybe they are waiting for the port lot to be cleared before it shows that you are waiting for transport. You might want to speak to a live rep as they are updated within a day or so of anything happening before actual transport. From there, your CA will have better information.

I spoke with my SA yesterday and he still shows it at the port but not on a ship. I just don't get it. I might have to give this car up because I will be out of pocket In Japan for 6 months at the most.

Today it says "at the port waiting for a shipping vessel". So I'm on the dock. Now I just have to hope I can get on the ship leaving tomorrow.

Mine says "in transport to the port of exit" as well. Hopefully that's not the case as I'll be picking it up at BMW Welt.

The next ship is due to leave today or tomorrow. If you were completed as I was, around 04/08, you will be on that ship that is about to leave.....

Hehe.. I would like to have the CIA redirect one of their spy satellites and provide me 24 hour live video of my car!

This isn't live obviously, but this is my best guess at the lot in bremerhaven:

http://local.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=...02547&t=k&z=16

It's possible they are put into containers first and then put on the dock.

Here's a neat depiction of what those cargo vessels look like inside:

Containers? If you zoom in you can see that there are a bunch of cars siting right there on the dock. No containers.

Man that port holds a crap load of cars! There must be $100,000,000 worth of inventory sitting on that dock.

According to the VPC tour thread the X3 are shipped in a white felt bag, so some of those white cars could actually be different colored X3s in their white bag.
