New wheels - Gunmetal 19" CSL [pics inside]

Ok, got 'em fitted!

19 x 8.5, front and rear.

235/35/19 Kumho Ecsta SPT KU31 x 4

Initial thoughts: Smooth but firm, much quiter than RFTs, decent grip (yet to test properly in wet).

Will give it a few days for them to scrub, and for the springs to settle again.

I'll take proper photos with my proper camera soon, but here's a couple of iPhone pics for now.

I love the colour!

If you're keen, give Matt @ MSWT a call on 03 9793 3244.

Ok, won't have pics of the wheels fitted until next week sometime. I decided to go with Gunmetal, so have to wait for them to come in - fingers crossed that'll be next Wednesday..

I figured that I'd go 19s because I'll no longer have runflats, so the ride won't be too much different to what it is now with RFTs. Rather than staggered, I'm going with 8.5 all 'round, which means I'll be able to rotate my tyres - I see this as a plus.

Got the wheels for $1200. I considered getting some in from the States, but at $900 plus freight, plus the potential for import duty and no warranty coverage, I just can't justify it. Got a decent deal on tyres too.

Got 'em from MSWT in Dandenong - www.mswt.com.au Call Matt if you're keen.

Included in the price are the roundels and M badges.

Here's a pic of the exact same rim (but with 5 Series offset):

They've got package deals that include entry level tyres, and I simply upgraded to better tyres. Oh, and I paid an additional $200 to have them finished in Gunmetal.

Aren't MSWT CSLs E46 fitment?!? I thought 1er fitments were different... that was why Alufelgen made 1er specific offsets... Eurodivision has 19" gunmetal CSL in E46 fitment in stock at AUD850... 19 x 8.5 (ET35) + 19 x 9.5 (ET42)

http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=712679

just thought I'd mention it...

Thanks Vince. Spoke to your contact at Eurodivision, and unfortunately the E46 offsets aren't ideal for the 1 series, and may cause rubbing as well as camber issues, so the tyres may wear unevenly. He wan't certain as he's not fitted anything to a 1er as yet - not saying this is a negative, but I just wanted to make the purchase and get some new shoes . MSWT have done quite a few 1ers without issue.

That's right. The offset in the 9.5" wheels is 20, suitable for the E46 M3.

The offset in the 8.5" is 35. I think. Or is it 40? Can't remember, will check the receipt...
