The story of the little Hoo that could.

The story of the little Hoo that could.

It was 14 years ago, I was ten years old. I was on a family trip in San Jose with my parents. We were visiting my Dad’s friend from college who had just purchased a brand new 328is. This thing was freaking amazing. Stick shift and all. I remember going on a drive with my Dad. We were going through all these windy roads and I was watching my Dad really enjoying the car. He was shifting with such passion. For guy who is like a stone, it was weird seeing him so passionate. I ask him, “Dad, why don’t you buy one these, they’re so nice?” He immediately pulled over. He then turned to me and said Hooman (my first name, yes it is my real first name) and said, “I could but I won’t, I want to save my money and give you all that you need to become successful, and when you do, make me proud and buy yourself one, then take me for a spin.” I remember getting serious. I told him, “Dad, I promise you by the time I am twenty five, I will own my own BMW, and I will make the family proud.” Well here I am fourteen years later and a year ahead of schedule…..I pick up my baby on Monday….Jet Black/PP/SP/Aluminum Trim/Stick Shift (of course)/iDrive/Satellite Prep.

Thanks to all in this forum for accompanying me on my journey ordering my dream car….

Let's not get carried away. In two years, give him your three and keep the 550i for yourself. I think that'll make things even-steven

Relax. Great car! Take a pic of dad in the driver's seat. And don't forget to start an account to help your kids get the help your parents provided you.

Great story. Hope your dad really enjoys the ride/drive.

My BMW seems to have brought my dad and I closer together too, something common to share. He thinks this is the first 'real' car I have owned.

chill dude! i was laughing at the fact that at 10 u promised ur dad u would buy a bimmer, i knew jack squat about cars at 10 let alone promise to buy my dad a bimmer. i was too busy with sports at that age. my laugh should not be interpreted in a negative way. at first i thought u actually made up the story bc i thought u quoted a line from "meet the parents" when focker was having dinner at the table and he told a story. if gov means fatfuck in farsi, then ur cursing at cows in the hindu religion? i though they were sacred in india?

Relax. I'm pretty sure govtec meant funny as in coincidence/amazing. No need to get carried away or ruin a good thread with swearing and insults. It takes away from the positive aspects of the story. If you're not sure what someone meant, ask.

I have to admit, when I clicked on the link, I thought I was going to get a BMW take on the Hooville story from the movie "The Grinch"

Now I have this image of Hoos's new bimmer with a 12 foot candy cane post elevating his sport seat through the sunroof and an accordion-style arm rest just as high with a bicycle horn on the end of it.
