Another new owner intro

Hi all,

I've been obsesively lurking for 6 months and now it is time to introduce myself as a new 1er. Go team. It might be placebo but these forums seem far more civilised than the aussie Nissan and Ford forums I'm used to so I'm very glad to meet you all.

My last car was a narrow R33 with all the fruit including forged internals, 3082R, hammer-tastic Kaaz 2-way diff, various suspension fruit, F50 brakes, grapes, bannanas et.al.

I became the second owner of my '08 135i 6MT in March and I've loved almost every km since. Bought at 49,000kms now at 56,000kms. Previous owner added mod-in-a-can (+5rwkw), LED interior lights (+5 flicker) and DCI (+5 rear wheel pudding touch). The HPFP and one bank of injectors have been replaced under warranty. I've done new RFTs (rough f***ing tires), new oem spark plugs, Motul 300V (I plan to change every 5,000kms), cleaned out the algae storage tank (washer tank), flashed the MHD Stock S1 OTS tune (major issues with this) and flashed the stock image back (major issues with this).

I will troubleshoot my tuning issues myself a bit more before I ask 1addicts/MHD for help. I will say MHD seems like *really* sweet software and I like it a lot but I've logged some serious leaning out, and got super knock codes (Fuel pressures seem fine and both banks affected). Hopefully I haven't done any damage and won't do any during troubleshooting (knock on wood) I'll post more on this in another thread when I have some coherant information.

Apologies for the poor quality photos.

Bluewater

Poo Brown

So thats pretty much the story so far. I'm not certain of my plans but I think I'll paint the wheels (not properly but more properly), bin the RFTs, add coilovers, add stiffer bushes (sub frame? control arms? nor sure yet), swap DCI for something less cop bait, FMIC, mechanical LSD and maybe driver software upgrade.

Edit: Typo

Nice car man!! The rear subframe bushings are the worst but really all the bushings are very soft on this car and can stand to be replaced. You sound like you have a good grasp on mods. Unfortunately I can't offer any advice on your tuning issue, but maybe someone else can if you post some logs.

What did you use to get your bumper fins black?

Thanks for the encouragement, guys.

The previous owner sprayed the bumper fins with plasdip or similar (along with the boot lip/strip and the wheels).

I'm not sure where to get new pudding. Is there a site sponsor? What are the service interval and torque specs?
