Anyone use Rim Wax???

Hiya Fellow 1er's

I was just browsing through my subscripton magazine (Performance Car) and saw an ad for Smartwax Rim Wax. My question is has anybody had any experience with this stuff and does it really make a difference to brake dust build up.

Love to hear your thoughts as I am now only a few weeks away from delivery and just trying to get some TLC stuff together.

I have found a contact in Victoria for this stuff, a guy in Mornington has rights to it so if no one on here can elaborate much on this then I'll post comments from the sales guy soon.

I've only ever use armorall wheel protectant which comes in a spray bottle. seems to work reasonably well given how much brake dust the standard pads produce. Just spray and let dry.

Currently using Swissvax Autobahn or Chem Guys Jetseal 109 every couple of months, and then topped with Armorall Wheel Protectant every wash or two. Armorall helps keep them clean of brake dust, and the other products keep the wheel looking good and easier to clean.

I properly prepared my car from brand new.

For the wheels I washed, clayed, pre wax cleaner, then swissvax. After this I found that everytime I did simple clean the wheels would clean very easily with NOT a mark remaining on the wheel! Well worth the initial effort.

Same - I use exactly the same product.

Just make sure you let it dry out 1 hour before driving the car.

I didn't do that a few weeks ago and had 'splotches' of break dust all over the wheels, and some spots that were crystal clear!

I swear by the Armorall stuff!

Another vote for Armorall Wheel Protectant - can't fault it.

I use toughseal wheel alloy wax. Makes brake dust much easier to clean off. Apply once every other month or so. And I was told not to use wheel spray cleaners once alloy wax is applied as this will strip it back down to bare.

You can order toughseal from www.glowridaz.com.au. Only in Australia, unfortunately. Not sure where else to get it for those outside Oceania.

A friend of mine uses rejex on his R8 and likes it a lot. I used Zaino Z2 on my new Breytons and they have been so easy to clean since.
