Switching Back to Original Exhaust

Picked up a 2012 135 M Sport last month with DCT and thoroughly enjoy the driving experience. One minor gripe is that the car came with the highly desirable BMW performance exhaust and I'm considering switching it back to the original set up that came with the car.

I'm probably a little older than most of the enthusiasts on the forum and I seem to have over estimated my desire for a louder, more aggressive sound. Don't get me wrong, it sounds amazing, but just a bit much for me.

The question of the day is how many hours should it take a muffler shop to swap out the original and performance exhausts?

Also, any thoughts on the value of a BMW performance exhaust with less than 8,000 miles on it?

Thanks.

less than 10 minutes to remove and put in the original exhaust, Thats if you have no problems with rusted bolts or stuck hangers.

Garage List
2022 BMW X3  [9.83]
2015 BMW M3  [6.50]
I installed the BMW PE on my wife's 128i M-Sport the day we took delivery. The PE is installed using a "collar" after literally sawing off the old muffler, so it'll be easy to re-install. I'm probably older than the OP and we both love our "loud" PE with 6MT trans, but I do have the original muffler in my garage just in case. Value-wise, I'd say you might get $200 USD for it.

Note that the OP posted in the wrong section. Here's his latest thread https://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1156557.

With that said, the 135i PE exhaust is a bit more involved than the 128i with the resonator swap, but not by far. Guessing they may charge you 1 or 1.5 hours for the removal/install.
